MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (pacathletics.org) - The Geneva College women's outdoor track and field team completed a rare accomplishment Friday when the Golden Tornadoes captured the 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) championship.

The PAC Championships were held at the Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park, the home of the West Virginia University track and field and cross country programs.

In addition to being the first outdoor PAC title in Geneva program history, it also gave the Golden Tornadoes league titles in cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field this year. The GT men also swept all three titles this year, making it the first time in PAC history the men's and women's teams from the same school have won cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field in the same year.

After Geneva scored 140.5 total points to win the league crown, head coach Phil Thompson was chosen as the PAC Women's Coach of the Year.

Earning second place was Grove City College, who posted 123.5 points, while Westminster College finished third (114.5) and Washington & Jefferson College was fourth (104.5). Coming in fifth place was Allegheny College with 100, followed by Hiram College with 71 and Franciscan University (40). Waynesburg University finished eighth with 33 points, then Saint Vincent College with 25, Bethany College and Thiel College with nine and Chatham University (seven).

Geneva senior Hailey Carroll sparked the Golden Tornadoes in their championship efforts, as she earned PAC Track MVP. Carroll's three top-three showings were highlighted by winning the 1,500 in 4:37.14, while she also took second in the 800 (2:17.81) and third in the 5,000.

The other major awards were earned by a pair of Westminster field athletes. Claiming both the Field MVP and Overall Track & Field MVP of the meet was Westminster senior Shelby Rambo. She amassed 32 total points with one conference title, two second places and a third place. Her win came in the discus with a mark of 42.09m/138-1 and Rambo placed second in the shot put (12.62m/41-5) and hammer throw (44.17m/144-11). Her third place was earned in the javelin with a mark of 36.48m/119-8.

The PAC Newcomer of the Year was earned by freshman Meghan Vadas. She picked up 13 points by placing in three events, with her top effort coming in the discus, as she finished second (41.39m/135-9). Vadas also finished fifth in the pole vault and eighth in the shot put.

The PAC also released its 2025-26 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Sportsmanship Team (linked above). The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams and student-athletes.
