TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - Grove City College captured its third consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Lacrosse Tournament Championship Saturday with a 10-4 victory over second-seeded Chatham University at Robert E. Thorn Field on Grove City's campus.
As the winner of the PAC Tournament, Grove City also earns the league's automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship for the third straight year. The field for this year's Division III Championship will be announced on NCAA.com at 10:30 am on Monday, May 4th, with first and second round games scheduled for May 9-11.

- The game was scoreless for nearly 10 minutes before Grove City struck twice in under 30 seconds, first on a goal on junior Tori Stevenson (Butler, Pa./Butler) and 21 ticks later, on a score by sophomore Mia Mygatt (Silver Spring, Md./Brookewood).
- The Wolverines made it 3-0 by the end of the first quarter on a goal by sophomore Jess Robinette (Mohnton, Pa./Twin Valley) with 56 seconds left in the period. Junior Taylor Blythe (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) assisted on the goal, as she assisted on all three scores in the first.
- Chatham's offense found a rhythm in the second quarter, outscoring the Wolverines 3-2 to cut into their deficit.
- Cougar freshman Campbell Murphy (Saline, Mich./Saline) assisted on fellow first-year Marcella Valentine's (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) goal that put Chatham on the board and Murphy scored her own goal with 1:44 left in the quarter to trim Grove City's lead to 5-3 at halftime.
- Grove City would use a stout defensive effort, including strong goalie play from senior Mia Gallagher (Mogadore, Ohio/Archbishop Hoban), to pull away in the second half.
- The Wolverines added two goals in the third quarter and Stevenson posted her third of the game early in the fourth quarter for an 8-3 lead.
- Chatham got one back on Valentine's second of the game at the 10:25 mark of the fourth, but 48 seconds later, Grove City answered when Mygatt scored her second of the day.
- The final score came with 2:10 to play when Robinette netted her second of the day and Grove City closed out the win and third PAC title in program history.
Inside the Box Score
- Six different players scored goals for Grove City, led by Stevenson's hat trick and Mygatt and Robinette with two each.
- Blythe finished with six assists for the game-high in points, while Stevenson, Mygatt and Robinette all had one assist each.
- Mygatt also had five ground balls, as did Gallagher, which helped the Wolverines hold a 37-23 advantage in ground balls.
- Gallagher was named the PAC Tournament's Most Outstanding Player after she finished with 10 saves in the title game, seven coming in the second half.
- Blythe and Stevenson also made All-Tournament Team, as did freshman Gabri Hallam (Buffalo, N.Y./Clarence), who compiled four ground balls and three caused turnovers in Saturday's win.
- Grove City managed to control possession much of the game, aided by an 11-4 margin in draw controls. Hallam had a game-high five DCs in the win and junior Gwen Shilling (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) had four along with a goal.
- Valentine led Chatham with a pair of goals,while Murphy and freshman Madison Kata (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ/Paramus Catholic) had one goal and one assist each.
- Cougar junior goalie Meghan Cuza-Berry (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) made eight saves in the contest.
- Valentine and Cuza-Berry were named All-Tournament Team, as was freshman Sofia Hoetzlein-Sirman (Prince Frederick, Md./Huntingtown).
PAC Championship Game Notes
- Grove City is now 16-3 this season and extended their program-record winning streak to 16 in a row.
- Chatham, who set a program record for wins this year, finishes the season with a 13-4 record.
- With three titles, Grove City matches Washington & Jefferson for the most PAC women's lacrosse championships.
- Grove City has won 25 consecutive games against PAC opponents dating back to the 2024 regular season finale on their way to back-to-back-to-back conference crowns.
