GROVE CITY, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - The Grove City College women's lacrosse team will travel to Geneva, N.Y., this weekend for the opening rounds of the 2026 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. The Wolverines will begin tournament play Saturday at 1 p.m. when they face New England powerhouse Williams (Mass.) at William Smith College. The NCAA announced this year's 47-team field and host sites Monday.
Grove City (16-3) earned its third straight trip to the national tournament by winning the Presidents' Athletic Conference Tournament title last Saturday. Grove City downed visiting Chatham, 10-4, in the conference tournament title game at Robert E. Thorn Field. It is Grove City's 16th straight win. The 16 wins are a single-season program record for the Wolverines.
Williams (9-7) earned an at-large berth in this year's field by going 5-5 in the rugged New England Small College Athletic Conference. The Ephs lost to No. 3 Wesleyan (Conn.) in the NESCAC Tournament quarterfinals April 25, 14-3.
Williams is one of six NESCAC teams to qualify for the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Ephs are making their seventh all-time appearance in the national tournament. This will be Williams' first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2014.
The Grove City-Williams victor will advance to play host William Smith (17-2) at 1 p.m. Sunday. William Smith qualified for the tournament by winning the Liberty League.
This will be the first meeting between Grove City and Williams.
