GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its All-PAC women's lacrosse teams and yearly award winners Wednesday afternoon. The league's nine head coaches determined, by vote, this year's All-PAC teams and annual award winners.

PAC Offensive Player of the Year honors went to Grove City College junior midfielder Madison Nazigian (Forest, Va. | Jefferson Forest). Thiel College sophomore goalkeeper Madison Liggett (Baltimore, Md. | Catholic) was named the PAC Defensive Player of the Year, while Grove City senior attack Brooke Stoltzfus (Elverson, Pa. | Conestoga Christian) was tabbed the PAC Newcomer of the Year. Washington & Jefferson College ninth-year head coach Alison Valerio was named the PAC Coach of the Year.

Nazigian was voted the PAC Offensive Player of the Year and earned First Team recognition after recording 68 points on 59 goals and nine assists in 18 games (18 starts) this season. She paced the PAC in draw controls (136, 7.56/g), ranked third in ground balls (66) and seventh in ground balls per game (3.67) while adding 22 caused turnovers and going 5-for-8 on free position shots. Nazigian fired in a career-high seven goals in a 16-15 home win against Saint Vincent on March 24. She scored the game-winner with three minutes remaining in the fourth period. Nazigian totaled a career-best 15 draw controls to go along with four goals, two assists and five ground balls in a 19-7 win over Westminster on April 26. She finished with three or more goals 11 times this season and scored the overtime game-winning goal in a 15-14 win over Franciscan on April 5.

Nazigian was named to the league's All-Tournament Team after helping guide Grove City to a 14-4 overall record, a 7-1 PAC regular season record and the No. 2 seed in the PAC Championship Tournament. She had three goals, four ground balls, five draw controls and two caused turnovers in Grove City's 12-6 semifinal victory over Franciscan on May 4.

Nazigian's 7.56 draw controls per game rank 15th in NCAA Division III.

Liggett was voted the PAC Defensive Player of the Year and earned First Team honors after anchoring Thiel's defense throughout the spring. She led the PAC in save percentage (.561) and ranks second with an 8.75 goals-against average. Her 11.17 saves per game average ranked third in the league. Liggett also totaled 38 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers in 12 games (12 starts) this season. She stopped 10 or more shots seven times and registered a career-high 20 saves in a 14-4 season-opening loss at Allegheny on March 8.

Liggett's .561 save percentage ranks third in Division III, while her 11.17 saves per game ranks 27th and her 8.75 goals-against average ranks 39th.

Stoltzfus was voted the PAC Newcomer of the Year and earned First Team honors after totaling 84 points on a league-high 62 goals and 22 assists in 18 games (18 starts) this season. She ranks fourth in the league in goals per game (62, 3.44/g), fifth in points per game (84, 4.67/g) and eighth in assists per game (22, 1.22/g). Stoltzfus also posted a PAC-high 72 ground balls and ranks tied for third in ground balls per game (4.00/g). She added 25 caused turnovers and went 7-for-11 on free position shots.

Stoltzfus registered a career-high nine points on five goals and four assists in an April 26 win over Westminster. She scored three or more goals 14 times this season, including back-to-back six goal outings in victories over Saint Vincent and Bethany. She was a PAC All-Tournament Team choice.

Valerio guided W&J to the top seed in the league’s four-team championship tournament after posting an 8-0 mark in conference play during the regular season. W&J pushed its season record to 12-4 with its 13-5 victory over No. 2 Grove City in the PAC Championship Tournament title game last Saturday at Alexandre Stadium in Washington. W&J is ranked No. 4 in the latest Division III Region VI regional rankings.

Also announced Wednesday were the members of this year's PAC Sportsmanship Team. The PAC’s Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to both recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all conference teams.

As the winner of this year's PAC Championship Tournament, W&J received the conference's automatic-qualifying bid to the Division III Championship. Thirty-two conferences were granted automatic qualification (Pool A) for this year's championship.

W&J will be making its third Division III Championship appearance in school history this weekend, taking on Transylvania in the first round at 1 p.m. Saturday at Washington & Lee in Lexington, Virginia.
