GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its All-PAC women's lacrosse teams and yearly award winners Thursday afternoon. Ballots for the all-conference teams and annual award winners were voted on by the PAC’s eight head coaches.

PAC Offensive Player of the Year honors went to Washington & Jefferson College sophomore midfielder Sarah Labovitz (Great Falls, Va. | The Bullis School). Chatham University graduate midfielder Bria Braddock (Pittsburgh, Pa. | Blackhawk) was named the PAC Defensive Player of the Year, while W&J freshman goalkeeper Kaitlyn Brown (Charlotte Hall, Md. | La Plata) was tabbed the PAC Newcomer of the Year. W&J eighth-year head coach Alison Valerio was named the PAC Coach of the Year.

Labovitz was named the PAC Offensive Player of the Year and earned First Team recognition after recording 35 goals and 20 assists for a total of 55 points this spring. Her 5.50 points per game, 4.40 ground balls per game and 5.90 draw controls per game averages all ranked No. 4 in the league. Her 19 draw controls in a road win at Saint Vincent College on April 18 established a single-game school record. Labovitz, a versatile player across both sides of the field, scored five or more goals four times this season, which included a seven-goal output in the PAC Championship Tournament semifinal round against No. 4 Franciscan University. She was recently named the Most Outstanding Player of the league's championship tournament.

The PAC Defensive Player of the Year award is Braddock's second. She also won the award as a junior at Westminster College. Braddock anchored Chatham's defense throughout the spring, helping the Cougars limit opposition to 10.50 goals per game. She paced the PAC in ground balls per game (8.30), caused turnovers per game (2.60), goals per game (5.20) and free position goals per game (1.60). Her 6.30 points per game average ranked second while her 6.30 draw controls per game ranked third. Braddock's 8.30 ground balls per game average ranks No. 2 in NCAA Division III while her 5.20 goals per game average is No. 6. She earned a spot on this year's All-Tournament Team and is a two-time All-PAC First Team honoree.

Brown posted an impressive rookie campaign with W&J, as the freshman played all 600 minutes in goal. She led the PAC in goals against average (6.20/game) and save percentage (.578). Brown was named PAC Defensive Player of the Week on April 26 following a season-high 14 save effort in a 10-9 win over Thiel College. She was a PAC All-Tournament Team choice.

Valerio helped guide W&J to the top seed in the league’s four-team championship tournament after going 6-0 in conference play during the regular season. W&J improved its record to 10-0 this spring with an 18-3 victory over No. 3 Thiel in the PAC Championship Tournament title game last Saturday at Alexandre Stadium in Washington.

W&J will be making its second Division III Championship appearance in school history. The Presidents previously advanced to the Division III Championship after winning the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) championship in 2016. Valerio was named the ORLC Coach of the Year following the 2016 season.

As the winner of this year's PAC Championship Tournament, W&J received the conference's automatic-qualifying bid to the Division III Championship. The field was announced Monday, May 3 with W&J scheduled to face Skyline Conference champion Farmingdale State in the second round on Saturday, May 8 at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Va. The game was deemed a no contest after Farmingdale State's withdrawal from the championship and W&J will advance to the third round Saturday, May 15.
