(pacathletics.org)--The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced the field for this year's Women's Soccer Championship Tournament after the completion of its regular season league schedule Wednesday night. The six-team championship tournament, which gets underway Saturday, will determine this year's PAC champion. The league had sponsored a four-team championship tournament since 2005. This year's tournament winner will also receive the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship, which begins the following week. The PAC is one of 44 conferences granted automatic qualification (Pool A) to the Division III Championship. Admission to all PAC Championship Tournament matches is $5 for adults and $2 for students, with students at PAC host institutions admitted for free with valid identification. Westminster College (15-1-1) secured the No. 1 seed in the championship tournament after going 9-0 in league play this fall. Grove City College (10-7, 7-2 PAC) will enter the championship tournament as the No. 2 seed. Westminster and Grove City will receive first round byes. Westminster, winners of five PAC titles since becoming eligible for the conference championship in 2002, won three-straight PAC championships from 2002-04 before winning back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007. Grove City has won seven PAC titles, claiming back-to-back championships in 2018 and 2019. Grove City has appeared in the league's title match 19 times, including the last nine straight. In Saturday's first round, No. 3 Chatham University (9-5-1, 7-2 PAC) will host No. 6 Geneva College (5-12, 4-5 PAC) at 12 p.m. at UPMC Graham Field in Pittsburgh. Washington & Jefferson College (9-7-2, 6-2-1 PAC), the No. 4 seed, will host No. 5 Waynesburg University (8-7-1, 4-4-1 PAC) at 2 p.m. at Alexandre Stadium in Washington. Chatham won its first-ever PAC women's soccer title last May and is making its sixth-straight tournament appearance. W&J won three-straight PAC championships from 2008-10. The Presidents are appearing in the tournament for the seventh time in the last eight years. Waynesburg is appearing the tournament for the first time since 2012. Geneva is making its first-ever appearance in the championship tournament since securing full Division III membership in 2011. Westminster and Grove City will host semifinal matches on Tuesday-Wednesday, Nov. 2-3. Westminster will host the No. 4 W&J/No. 5 Waynesburg winner at the UPMC Sports Complex in New Wilmington, while Grove City will host the No. 3 Chatham/No. 6 Geneva winner at Don Lyle Field in Grove City. Semifinal dates and start times will be announced after Saturday's first round results. The title match, slated for Saturday, Nov. 6, will be hosted by the highest-remaining seed following next Wednesday's semifinal results. Information on the title match will be announced after the completion of the semifinal round. Selections for the 64-team Division III Championship will be announced Monday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. First and second round matchups are scheduled for Friday-Sunday, Nov. 12-14.
