Beginning in 2015 PAC schools sponsoring men's and women's lacrosse competed as members of the single-sport Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) with lacrosse-playing schools from the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC). The 2018 season was the final season for PAC schools to compete in the ORLC.

The PAC Presidents' Council formally announced its approval of the addition of men's and women's lacrosse as varsity sports on December 19, 2012. Unofficial conference championship events in both sports took place in 2013 and 2014.
