TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) has seven individuals and one relay who have qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, May 21-23 at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wis. The top 22 performers in each individual event and top 16 relays are invited to the NCAA Championships.
Five women from PAC programs earned a spot at this year's Championship meet, highlighted by Washington & Jefferson College senior Claire Anderson (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown), who will compete in the 5,000 and 10,000. Westminster College is sending a pair of qualifiers in the pole vault in senior Missy Treharne (Burton, Ohio/Beaumont School) and freshman Aubrey Rock (Butler, Pa./Butler).
Also qualifying in field events was Allegheny College sophomore Evie Ellenberger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) in the long jump and Geneva College junior Daphne Alexander (Millersburg, Ohio/West Holmes) in the high jump.
The men's championships will include two individuals and one relay from PAC programs. Bethany College's 4x100 relay of freshman Jamari Curlett (Erie, Pa./North East), freshman Ziacheas White (Waycross, Ga./Ware County), freshman Jason Ellman (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) and junior Caliyph McClinton (Pittsburgh, Pa./Neighborhood Academy) qualified, as did Geneva sophomore Abe Konneh (Sharon Hill, Pa./Chester Charter Scholars Academy) in the 200 and Westminster sophomore Rylan Dye (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) in the high jump.
Anderson will be representing W&J in her second Outdoor National Championship appearance in her career. Anderson logged a qualifying time in the 5,000 with a program-record time of 16:33.88 at the PAC Outdoor Championships. The senior bested all runners to finish first and her time ranks 11th for national championships.
Anderson additionally qualified for the 10,000 at this year's championship. The senior standout punched her ticket to Nationals during the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Division I Bucknell University. Anderson's new personal-best time of 34:07.20 in the event was the top time in the country when reached April 11th and that time still seeds her third in this week's national meet.
The Westminster trio of Treharne, Rock and Dye are making their second NCAA Championship appearance this year, as all three qualified for the Division III Indoor Championships in March.
To earn a spot at this spring's Championships, Treharne cleared a personal-best height of 4.01 meters/13-1.75 at the Westminster Invitational on April 11. She will enter the outdoor championships tied for the No. 6 mark in Division III this season.
Rock earned All-America honors at the Division III Indoor Championships, finishing tied with MIT's Hailey Surace for eighth place. Both cleared 3.85 meters (12-7.5) on their first attempts, respectively, and finished with five total misses. She enters the outdoor championships tied for the 19th-best mark. Rock cleared a season-best 3.86 meters (12-8) at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on March 27.
Dye cleared a season-best 2.06 meters (6-9) while tying his career-best mark at Mount Union's Last Chance on May 13. He will enter the outdoor championships with the No. 17 seed mark. At the Division III Indoor Championships, he was one of five competitors to tie for 14th place and earn Second Team All-America after clearing 1.98 meters (6-6).
After earning All-America honors in the long jump with the highest finish of any PAC athlete at Indoor Championships, Allegheny's Ellenberger will now try to add a second award this spring. She placed fifth at indoor championships and then added the PAC outdoor championship in the long jump on May 1st. Ellenberger earned the 10th seed for this weekend's national meet after she hit a mark of 5.88m/19-3.5 at the AARTFC Outdoor Track & Field Championship meet on May 13th.
Geneva's Konneh is also competing in his second championship of the year, as he also qualified for the indoor championships in the 200 where he finished 20th at the meet. For the outdoor championships, Konneh is seeded eighth with a time of 20.98 seconds, which he posted on April 3rd at the Slippery Rock Dave Labor Invitational.
While Konneh is in his second NCAA meet of the year, Alexander will be making her national championship debut in the high jump. The PAC indoor and outdoor champion in the event, Alexander's spot at the national meet was secured with her effort at Baldwin Wallace's Sparky Adams Invitational on April 17th. She cleared 1.70m/5-7 that day, which puts her in a tie for the 12th seed coming into the NCAA Championships.
Bethany's 4x100 team is the first men's relay to qualify for the national outdoor championships since Westminster's 4x100 relay earned All-America by placing seventh in 2022. The Bison's top time came at PAC Championships on May 1st when Bethany set a new conference record with a winning time of 40.64 seconds, which ranks the BC relay sixth entering the national meet.
