YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (pacathletics.org) - Aided by wins in four individual events, Geneva College captured the 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC0 Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship, the first conference title in program history. The PAC meet was held once again at Youngstown State University's Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).
The Golden Tornadoes amassed 127 team points to edge out Grove City College, who scored 122 to finish in second. Third place was earned by Westminster College with 84.5 points, while Allegheny College was fourth with 75, one point in front of fifth place Hiram College (74). Washington & Jefferson College finished sixth with 59 points and was followed by Waynesburg University in seventh (29), Saint Vincent College in eighth (26), Franciscan University (13), Bethany College (10) and Chatham University (3.5).
Claiming two of the four event titles for Geneva was senior Hailey Carroll. In addition to taking first in the races, Carroll also set PAC-Championship records in the Mile (4:57.47) and 800 (2:14.55). Also in the distance events, Geneva senior Carmen Medvit gave her team another top finish when she won the 3,000 in a time of 10:09.19, which broke her own PAC record set in 2023.
The fourth Geneva victory was in the high jump, where junior Daphne Alexander cleared 1.63m/5-4.25 to earn the top spot and set a new PAC standard.
After guiding the Golden Tornadoes to their crown, Geneva head coach Phil Thompson was voted ast the PAC Women's Coach of the Year.
In addition to the four records broken by Geneva, two other PAC marks were rewritten Thursday night and both involved W&J senior Claire Anderson. In the first running event of the Championships, she obliterated the record in the 5,000 by 42 seconds when she crossed the finish line in 16:54.90.
Then in the Distance Medley Relay late in the evening, Anderson was the anchor who brought the baton across in a final time of 12:14.84, also smashing the old PAC record by more than 20 seconds.
Headlining the major award winners at the end of the night was Allegheny sophomore Evie Ellenberger, who collected both the Most Outstanding Performer in Women's Field and the Women's Track & Field MVP. In earning the top Field award, Ellenberger won the long jump with a mark of 5.75m/18-10.5 and placed second in the triple jump (10.54m/34-7).
On the track, Ellenberger added her third medal of the meet when she took third in the 60, finishing in 7.97 seconds, the second-fastest time in school history.
The Most Outstanding Performer in Women's Track was shared by a pair of sprinters from Grove City. Sophomore Kiara White won the 60 meters in a time of 7.90 seconds and then won the 200 in 25.77 seconds, giving her titles in both events for a second year in a row.
Wolverine sophomore Nadine Lauffer earned a share of the top Track performer award after she won the 400 in a school-record time of 58.94 seconds, while adding in a second place in the 200 and a seventh in the 60. Both White and Lauffer also ran on the winning Grove City 4x400 relay to close the meet.
Earning PAC Newcomer of the Year was Hiram freshman thrower Angelina Weems, who took first in the Weight Throw with her best mark being more than a foot better than the runner-up.
