TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - The Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships return to the Youngstown State University’s Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS) this Thursday, Feb. 26th and the conference released its men's indoor track and field pre-championships coaches' polls and athletes to watch.

Field events will begin at 10:30 a.m., while track events will get underway at approximately 3 p.m.

Admission to Thursday's PAC Championship is $10 for adults and $5 for students with ID/children ages 5-12 (current college, high school, grade school IDs must be valid and shown upon request). Children under 5 are free. There will also be a $5 parking fee for spectators. Youngstown State Campus Map/Parking Areas

Spectators must remain outside of the track and the infield to observe the meet. At no time are spectators allowed on the track lanes or infield. Please use the bleachers. All non-competing student-athletes are asked to remain in the designated roped off area.

Coming off back-to-back PAC crowns, Grove City College earned the top position in the coaches poll with five first-place votes and 115 points. The Wolverines just edged Geneva College for the top of the poll, as the Golden Tornadoes scored 113 points and had six first-place votes to rank second. Westminster College was third with the final first-place vote and 99 points with Washington & Jefferson College just behind the Titans in fourth place with 96 points. The rest of the pre-championships poll can be seen below.

Led by head coach Jessica (Cooper) Ray, who has earned PAC Coach of the Year two years in a row, Grove City used three individual events and one relay title to secure their second consecutive conference championship. By totaling 137 team points, the Wolverines finished 25 points in front of runner-up Allegheny College, who amassed 112. Taking third was W&J with 95.5 points and coming in fourth was Westminster with 81 points.

Leading the Wolverines' pursuit of a third straight PAC title is senior Alex Mitchell, last season's Track MVP of the championship meet and the only major award winner back to compete this year. He had a hand in three of the four events won by Grove City in 2025, which began with a conference title and PAC record in the 400 when he finished in 47.61 seconds. Mitchell would later win a championship in the 200 (21.69) and finished the meet by anchoring the 4x400 relay that crossed in a winning time of 3:23.78.

In addition to Mitchell, three others will be trying to defend their PAC titles from last year, all in field events. Allegheny junior Grant Miller won the pole vault, Waynesburg junior Jacob Harker finished first in the shot put and Westminster sophomore Rylan Dye was the PAC champion in the high jump.

Entering the 2026 PAC Championships, three of the returning champions are seeded first on the current PAC Performance List with Mitchell in the 400 (48.34), Dye in the high jump (2.03m/6-7.75) and Harker in the shot put (15.32m/50-3.25).

Two others are ranked first in the conference in multiple events, including Bethany junior Caliyph McClinton in the 60 (6.71) and 200 (21.42) and W&J junior Dom Flitcraft in the 3,000 (8:36.57) and 5,000 (14:49.66).

At the conclusion of Thursday’s championships, the PAC will recognize its team champions, as well the event's Most Outstanding Performers (overall, track, field), Newcomers of the Year, Coaches of the Year and Sportsmanship Team honorees.

The NCAA Division III Championships are scheduled for Friday-Saturday, March 13-14 and will be held at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.
