LATROBE, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - Saint Vincent College and Athletic Director D.P. Harris have announced that head men's and women's swimming coach Josh Gurekovich has been named Assistant Athletic Director for Leadership.

In addition to his promotion to the Assistant Athletic Director duties, Gurekovich will remain the head coach of both the men's and women's swimming team.

"We are thrilled to welcome Josh Gurekovich to our leadership team at Saint Vincent," said Harris. "Josh brings a proven ability to connect with student-athletes, coaches, and colleagues in a way that inspires growth and excellence. His vision, energy, and commitment to servant leadership align perfectly with our mission, and I am confident he will help elevate Bearcat Athletics to new heights."

Gurekovich has been the Saint Vincent College swimming coach since the program's inception in 2004. In 2013 and 2022, he was honored by his peers, as he was named Women's Coach of the Year in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.

Last season, the veteran coach helped guide two swimmers, Abby Leskovansky and Jacob Dzurica to earn the Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) Swimmer of the Year honors on the women's and men's side. Under the leadership of Gurekovich, Dzurica qualified for the NCAA National Championship Meet where he earned All-American honors.

Prior to SVC's joining of the NCAA, Coach Gurekovich qualified 13 swimmers for the NAIA national meet. As members of the NCAA and the PAC, both the men's and women's squads continue to perform well, setting many new school records each season.

Gurekovich came to Saint Vincent after coaching two powerful NCAA Division III teams, Westminster College (Pa.) and Colby College.
