LOUISVILLE, Ky. (pacathletics.org) - Following seasons in which they earned All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) recognition on the lacrosse field, Chatham University defender Thomas Curtin (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) and Westminster College midfielder Gavin Jones (Henrico, Va./Douglas S. Freeman) were honored for their efforts in the classroom, as both earned United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-America honors.
To qualify for the award, the student-athlete must be nominated by his coach, be a senior in academic standing with a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 and have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution and to college lacrosse both on and off the field. Nominees must also be an All-American, a member of a North/South team, or an outstanding league or conference player.
A chemistry major, Curtin was on the Dean's List for three semesters at Chatham and was also on the PAC Academic Honor Roll once. On the field, Curtin was a two-year captain and two-time team MVP for the Cougars. He earned ALl-PAC accolades three times, including Second Team in 2024 and Honorable Mention in 2023 and 2025.
This marks the second straight year a Chatham player has been a USILA Scholar All-America honoree after Logan Blankenship earned the honor in 2024.
A three-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® selection, Jones is the first USILA Scholar All-America selection in program history. He graduated summa cum laude on May 10 with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance and business administration and finished his career with a 3.92 cumulative GPA. An eight-time Dean's List honoree, he was named to the PAC's Academic Honor Roll four times.
On the field, Jones was a three-time All-PAC selection, including First Team in 2023 and 2024 and Second Team in 2025. Jones is the program's all-time leader with 195 goals and 266 points, which included setting single-season program marks in 2025 in goals (70) and points (96).
