Hougan Headlines Seven Grove City USILA All-America Honorees

GROVE CITY, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) honored seven Grove City College men's lacrosse players recently as Division III All-Americans. 

Senior attack Zachary Hougan (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) earned Second Team All-America recognition. Six men merited Honorable Mention All-America: graduate student goalie Danny Stone (Chantilly, Va./Flint Hill), graduate student faceoff specialist Luke Rios (Centennial, Colo./Cherry Creek), senior attack Matt Blythe (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima), senior defender Zach Furry (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro), senior short stick defensive midfielder Trey Zabroski (Mountain Top, Pa./Danville) and junior defender Sam Stevenson (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove)

Hougan led Grove City with 50 goals, 38 assists and 88 points this year. He recorded four assists in Grove City's NCAA Tournament second round game at Christopher Newport, giving him a program-record 116 career assists. Hougan also ranks third in program history with 143 goals and third with 259 career points. 

Hougan earned Presidents' Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors, along with First Team All-PAC distinction. He earned Honorable Mention USILA All-America in 2024.

Stone went 8-8 with a .541 save percentage this season. He added 39 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. A two-time USILA Honorable Mention All-American, Stone concluded his career as Grove City's all-time leader with 31 wins and 600 saves. 

Rios led Grove City with 83 ground balls in his first season at the College. He won 66.2 percent (180 of 272) of his faceoff opportunities this spring. Rios scored two goals and added three assists. He earned First Team All-PAC recognition and the league's Specialist of the Year award.

Blythe repeated as a USILA Honorable Mention All-American after pumping in 41 goals this season. He also tallied 14 assists and finished second on the team with 55 total points. A four-time First Team All-Conference selection, Blythe ranks second in program history with 215 goals and 273 points. 

Furry helped anchor the Wolverines' defense this year by causing 14 turnovers. He helped Grove City limit its opponents to an 8.38 goals-against average. A four-year letterman and three-year starter at defender, Furry captured the conference's Defensive Player of the Year award, along with First Team All-PAC. 

This is Furry's first USILA honor.

Zabroski repeated as a USILA Honorable Mention All-American after recording 16 caused turnovers and 46 ground balls this season. The Presidents' Athletic Conference Specialist of the Year in 2024, Zabroski added 16 assists this season. He also earned his second straight First Team All-PAC award. 

Stevenson also repeats as a USILA Honorable Mention selection after his defensive work in 2025. He led the Wolverines with 18 caused turnovers while also recording 34 ground balls. A two-time First Team All-PAC honoree, Stevenson chipped in four goals and five assists at the offensive end. 

Grove City finished 14-8 overall and won its sixth straight conference title. The Wolverines defeated visiting Albion in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament, 18-3, before falling to No. 4 Christopher Newport in the second round of the tournament, 16-14.

Ten Grove City men's lacrosse players have earned All-America honors since the program's 2018 inception.
