TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - When the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2025 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, 34 student-athletes from Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) programs were among those recognized for their academic and athletic excellence.

The Academic All-District® Softball Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 17, 2025.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District®, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances OR pitched 35 innings.

A pair of PAC programs placed five players on the list, including Allegheny College and Waynesburg University. Bethany College, Saint Vincent College, Thiel College and Washington & Jefferson College had four apiece on the team, while Geneva College and Grove City College both placed three on the list and Franciscan University and Westminster College had one each earn a spot on the team.

Of the 34 on the Academic All-District® Softball Team, 13 are will be included on the national ballot for Academic All-America® consideration. Grove City and Waynesburg will have three each on the national ballot, while three programs will have two of their players up for Academic All-America® honors, including Allegheny, Bethany and Geneva and Thiel will have one player on the ballot.

In addition to their academic success, many of those honored were also standouts on the diamond. A total of 20 were recognized with All-PAC laurels this year, while three were named to the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
