TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - The 2026 All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Softball teams and annual award winners were released Thursday evening, with the initial announcement coming through a show by the PAC Sports Network.
Three-time champion Westminster College swept all four major award presented by the PAC. The Titan award winners included sophomore second base Morgan O'Brien winning Player of the Year, sophomore Cheyenne Piper earning PAC Pitcher of the Year and freshman utility Kylie Anthony collecting the league's Newcomer of the Year.
Completing the Westminster award sweep was head coach Jan Reddinger earning the PAC Coach of the Year honor.
O'Brien's selection as Player of the Year is the fourth time a Westminster player has been voted to the honor. She led the conference this year with a .500 batting average and was third with 57 hits. O'Brien also ranked fourth in the league in slugging percentage (.719), on-base percentage (.519), runs scored (38) and RBIs (42), tied for fifth in doubles (13) and first in sacrifice flies (six).
Through the season, O'Brien amassed 19 games with multiple hits and had a 14-game hitting streak at one time. She also posted 11 games with multiple RBIs, including when she drove in a pair in the Titans' 6-3 PAC Tournament victory over Geneva which put Westminster in the championship.
Piper's Pitcher of the Year is the second straight year she's earned the honor. In addition, Piper is the second pitcher in PAC history to earn repeat laurels and first since Waynesburg's Sydney Wilson in 2022 and 2023. Her numbers were equal to or better than her freshman year, as Piper led the PAC in wins (18), strikeouts (180) and lowest batting average against (.190) and second in the conference in earned run average (1.73) and innings pitched (141 2/3).
Another Piper repeat came after the sophomore pitcher helped the Titans win their third straight PAC championship. For the second year in a row, Piper was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament after she posted a 3-0 record with four runs allowed on 15 hits with 26 strikeouts in 21 innings of work. In two years in a Westminster uniform, Piper has a 6-0 record in the PAC Tournament.
Anthony's selection as the conference's top newcomer is the second straight honor for the Westminster program after Piper was recognized last spring. Anthony was the PAC leader with eight triples and fifth in the league in doubles (13) and runs scored (37). Overall, she batted .394 with 39 hits, had 23 RBIs and drew a team-leading 16 walks to post an on-base percentage of .475.
The Titans third PAC title run was aided by a big week from Anthony, who was named to the All-Tournament Team. Three of her five hits were doubles in the Tournament and Anthony also drove in two and scored four times.
For Reddinger, this is the fourth PAC Coach of the Year award after her previous recognition in 2024, 2007 and 2004. The Titans set a program record for conference wins with a 19-3 PAC record this year. In addition to capturing the program's fourth overall PAC crown, Westminster's 30-9 record is the fourth 30-win season in Titan history.
As the winner of this year's championship tournament title, Westminster secured the PAC's automatic qualifying bid to the Division III Softball Championship, with teams and regional site selections to be announced on Monday, May 11. Regional round play is scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, May 14-16 and the Super Regionals will be played Thursday-Friday, May 21-22.
Also announced Thursday were the members of this year's PAC Sportsmanship Team. The PAC's Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to both recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all conference teams.
