Grove City Makes it Three Straight PAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Allegheny's Moon Wins Track/Field/Overall MVP Honors

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (pacathletics.org) - The Grove City College men's track and field team continued its recent run atop the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) when the Wolverines scored 157 team points to capture its third consecutive conference title.

The PAC Championship Meet was held once again at the Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park in Morgantown, W.Va. 


It marked the 22nd title for the Grove City program, as they outpaced runner-up Allegheny College, who scored 117.5 points, while Washington & Jefferson College scored 102 to place third and Geneva College finished fourth with 100. Earning fifth place was Westminster College with 89, followed by Waynesburg University (51), Franciscan University (42), Bethany College (38.5), Saint Vincent College (19), Thiel College (14) and Chatham University (eight).

It was a balanced effort in the Grove City, who collected points in 17 of the 19 events and posted four event wins. Graduate student Gabe Dunlap (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) won the javelin with a best toss of 188-1, while senior Ryan Lenhart (New Castle, Pa./Shenango) won the discus with a top throw of 158-6. 

On the track, junior Alex Mitchell (Hummelstown, Pa./Harrisburg Christian) won the 400 in 47.37 seconds. The Wolverines also won the 1600 relay in the last event on the track, as freshman Jeremiah Knowles (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata), junior Isaac Busler (Butler, Pa./Butler), junior Isaac Young (Jordan, Minn./Jordan) and junior Greg Wilson (Akron, Ohio/Reveres) combined for a winning time of 3:19.56.

While Grove City was winning the team championship, the main individual awards were being claimed by Allegheny senior Aaron Moon (Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock). He won three events, scored in five others and finished the meet with 54 total points, which propelled him to the Track MVP, Field MVP and overall Track & Field MVP honors. His event wins came in the long jump (6.98m/22-10.75), triple jump (13.86m/45-5.75) and 110 hurdles (15.58).

Moon also gathered second place finishes in the pole vault (4.05m/13-3.5) and 400 hurdles (57.23), fifth place showings in the 100 (11.34) and 4x100 relay team (42.77) and a sixth in the high jump (1.81m/5-11.25)


The final major award went to Westminster freshman Aaron Hankerson (Reidsville, Ga./Robert Toombs Christian Academy). He finished as the PAC champion in the 100 in 10.66 seconds, took second in the 200 in 21.72 and ran on the Titans' third-place 4x100 relay.

The Coach of the Year award went to Grove City head coach Jessica Cooper. She earned the honor for the third year in a row to match the current Wolverines' championship run.

The PAC also released its 2025 Men's Outdoor Track and Field Sportsmanship Team (linked above). The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams and student-athletes.
