MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (pacathletics.org) - Fueled by six individual events wins and a sweep of both relays, Grove City College captured the 2025 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship, the first title for the Wolverines since 2022 and 13th overall.

The PAC Championships were held at the Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park, the home of the West Virginia University track and field and cross country programs.

The championship capped off a banner year for the Wolverines, who also secured the women's indoor title in February. Grove City amassed 157 total points to capture the league crown. Head coach Jessica Cooper was named the PAC Women's Coach of the Year following the team’s outstanding performance.

This year's runner up was Allegheny College, who totaled 138 points, while Westminster College finished third (131) and Chatham University was fourth (74.5). Next was Washington & Jefferson College collecting 44 points, followed by Geneva College with 43.5 and Franciscan University (31). Waynesburg University finished eighth with 24 points, then Saint Vincent College with 21, Bethany College (15), Thiel College (13).

Pacing the Grove City championship efforts was senior Lydia Bennett (Bethel, Maine/Gould Academy) and freshman Kiara White (Perkiomenville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley). Bennett won a trio of events Friday, highlighted by a first place in the 1500 meters in a time of 4 minutes, 27.84 seconds, which ranks sixth in Division III this season and she also posted victories in 800 (2:14.44) and 5000 (17:05.17) meters.

With Bennett dominating the mid- and distance events, White had a big day in the sprints as she would win the PAC Newcomer of the Year. She was the winner in the 200 in 25.49 seconds, took second in the 100 (12.56) and ran on the victorious 400 (48.94) and 1600 (3:58.08).

The other big story in the meet was Chatham senior Aurielle Brunner (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle), who had an unprecedented day. She scored a remarkable 68 points as she swept the other three major awards in the Track MVP, Field MVP and overall Track & Field MVP. Her day included first place finishes in the field in triple jump (11.99m/39-4.0), long jump (5.77m/18-11.75) and high jum (1.60m/5-3).

Her day in the track events included first places in the 100 (12.42 seconds), 100 hurdles (15.16) and the 400 hurdles (1:04.06), while adding a second place in the 200 (26.04).

The PAC also released its 2024-25 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Sportsmanship Team (linked above). The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams and student-athletes.
