TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - When the 2024-25 Academic All-District® Tennis Teams were announced recently, 27 student-athletes from Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) programs, including 17 women and 10 men, were recognized for their efforts in the classroom and on the courts.

Six of those student-athletes honored with Academic All-District® recognitionwill be included on the national ballot for Academic All-America® consideration, including five women and one on the men's side.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk below and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 3 for the women and June 4 for the men.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District®, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and be in the lineup for 70 percent of an institution's days of competition.

Pacing PAC women's programs with four student-athletes earning Academic All-District® recognition was Geneva College and Waynesburg University. Those schools were followed by Westminster College with three, Franciscan University and Washington & Jefferson College had two apiece and Allegheny College and Grove City College both placed one player on the team. Two honorees from Westminster and one from Allegheny, Grove City and W&J will be included on the Academic All-America® ballot.

Leading PAC men's tennis programs was Westminster with four on the Academic All-District® team. Geneva had three on the list, Waynesburg placed two and Allegheny had one on the team as well, with Allegheny's representative advancing to the Academic All-America® voting.

Many of those honored were also standouts on the court as well as in the classroom. A total of 12 were All-PAC performers this year, while five were selected for the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
