TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - Following their third consecutive undefeated regular season in conference play, Allegheny College has secured the top seed and home-court advantage throughout the 2025 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Tennis Championship Tournament, which begins with quarterfinal round action Tuesday, April 22nd.

This year's PAC Championship Tournament will feature a six-team championship bracket format.

Allegheny, who has not lost a PAC match since returning to the conference prior to the 2022-23 academic year, clinched the No. 1 seed with an unblemished 8-0 record in the PAC and finished the regular season 18-6 overall. As the No. 1 seed, the Gators, as well as second-seeded Grove City College (10-4, 7-1 PAC), earned quarterfinal byes.

The opening round will feature third-seed Franciscan University (9-6, 6-2 PAC) hosting the sixth-seed, Westminster College (3-5, 5-7 PAC) on Tuesday at 5:30 pm in Steubenville, Ohio. When the teams met in the regular season April 2nd, the Barons pulled out a narrow 4-3 win over Westminster after winning two of three to earn the doubles point and taking straight-set singles victories in the top three flights.

Tuesday's other quarterfinal will feature No. 5 Washington & Jefferson College (8-10, 4-4 PAC) going to No. 4 Saint Vincent College (15-4, 5-3 PAC) for a 4 pm match in Latrobe, Pa. The teams just played this past Monday, April 14th, with the Bearcats claiming a 5-2 triumph. After winning first and second doubles to earn that point, Saint Vincent clinched the win with singles decisions at first, second, fifth and sixth singles.

The Saint Vincent/Geneva quarterfinal winner will make the trip to Grove City for a Thursday semifinal and top-seeded Allegheny will host the team that emerges from the Saint Vincent/W&J match, with that semifinal also to be played Thursday. Both semifinals are slated to begin at 4 pm.

The semifinal winners will play in the PAC Tournament Championship match on Saturday, April 26, with that match being hosted by the highest remaining seed. First serve will be at 1 p.m. for the title match. All Tournament matches will use the seven-point team format with the first team to four (4) individual match wins moving forward.

The winner of the PAC Championship Tournament earns the conference's automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. Team selections for the Division III Championships will be announced on Monday, May 5 with first-, second- and third-round matches slated for Friday-Sunday, May 9-11.
