TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - The 2026 All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) men's tennis teams and annual award winners were announced Tuesday afternoon. The conference's nine head coaches vote to determine the yearly award winners and All-PAC teams.
For the second year in a row and third time in four years, the Allegheny College program also swept all three major awards after the Gators won their fourth consecutive PAC championship. Freshman Adam Memije claimed both the PAC Player of the Year and PAC Newcomer of the Year, while fifth-year Allegheny head coach Dave Hayden garnered PAC Coach of the Year laurels.
Memije's double recognition marks the first time the Player and Newcomer of the Year awards have been earned by the same player since Grove City's Jack Booker won both in 2021. He is also just the eighth freshman to collect Player of the Year honors in the conference since 1991.
It caps a very impressive initial year for Memije, who compiled a 27-5 overall singles record this season at the top singles spot for the Gators. That included a 6-0 mark against PAC foes in the regular season and another win in the PAC Tournament, all in straight sets. Of Memije's five singles losses, three came against nationally-ranked opponents from Carnegie Mellon, Case Western Reserve and Kenyon.
In doubles, Memije and senior Benedek Kaibas earned First Team All-PAC honors after posting an 8-6 record together, including wins in three PAC matches at No. 2. Memije also teamed with senior David Rodriguez for two more PAC victories.
Hayden is the conference's Coach of the Year for the fourth season in a row after the Gators ran their PAC title streak to four. Allegheny finished 8-0 in PAC play for their fourth straight unbeaten regular season in conference play and would collect the eighth championship in program history. Hayden led Allegheny to an 18-8 record this season, the fourth consecutive season with 16 or more wins in a season.
Also announced were the members of this year's PAC Sportsmanship Team, which are linked above. The PAC's Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to both recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all conference teams.
With their victory in this year's PAC Championship Tournament, Allegheny secured the conference's automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. The Gators reached the second round of the Championships for the third consecutive season, as Allegheny swept Penn State Behrend in the opening round 4-0 before falling in their second-round match to eighth-ranked Swarthmore College.
