Allegheny's Herrmann, W&J's Dezenzo Named to D3baseball Team of the Week 3/20/2024 11:55:00 AM TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - Allegheny College senior Brent Herrmann (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield) and Washington & Jefferson College sophomore Josh Dezenzo (Alliance, Ohio/Marlington) earned spots on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for March 20th following their exceptional performances on the field last week. The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its twelfth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the fifth Team of the Week of the 2024 season. The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Pitcher of the Week, Herrmann tossed a complete-game shutout in a 3-0 victory over Rochester in the first half of Saturday's doubleheader. The senior southpaw allowed only two hits and struck out six. It was the first complete game of his career and his 10th win on the mound as a Gator. Herrmann is the first Gator to throw nine innings in a complete game since 2019 and the first to throw a nine-inning shutout since 2015. He's the first D3baseball.com Team of the Week selection since Daniel Morgano '23 was recognized on April 26, 2023, following three hitless relief appearances against Geneva College and Waynesburg University. This week's PAC Hitter of the Week, Dezenzo put together a record-breaking effort during a spectacular overall week. Dezenzo finished the week with a .692 batting average (9-for-13), four home runs, seven runs scored and six RBI. Dezenzo established a new single-game program record with three home runs Thursday versus Muskingum. Dezenzo added three hits, including a pair of doubles, during W&J's game versus No. 7 Wisconsin-La Crosse Sunday. This is Dezenzo's second D3baseball Team of the Week honor. He was also recognized on the May 3rd team last season after he totaled five hits, including two home runs, six RBI and three runs scored in a sweep over Thiel College.
