TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - The 2024 Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held this Thursday, February 23rd, at Youngstown State University’s Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS). In anticipation of the event, the PAC announced its women's indoor track and field pre-championships coaches' poll, as well as its Athletes to Watch list.

Field events will begin at 10:30 a.m. Track events will get underway at approximately 3 p.m.

Admission to Thursday's PAC Championship is $10 for adults and $5 for students with ID/children ages 5-12 (current college, high school, grade school IDs must be valid and shown upon request. Children under 5 are free. There will also be a $5 parking fee for spectators. Youngstown State Campus Map/Parking Areas

Spectators must remain outside of the track and the infield to observe the meet. At no time are spectators allowed on the track lanes or infield. Please use the bleachers. All non-competing student-athletes are asked to remain in the designated roped off area.

Westminster College was voted to the top spot in the pre-championships poll, totaling five of the 10 first-place votes collected and 82 points. They finished just ahead of Grove City College, who garnered 78 points and three first-place votes, while Allegheny College, who picked up the remaining two first-place votes, and Washington & Jefferson College tied for third place with 74 points. The complete poll can be seen below.

The defending conference champion is Allegheny, who won their first PAC title while competing in their initial Indoor Track & Field Championship since returning to the league at the start of the year. The Gators won four of the 16 overall events at the meet, which featured nine new women's conference records set, and scored 126 points to out-distance second place Grove City, who totaled 109 points. Geneva College placed third with 82.5 points.

After leading Allegheny to the conference crown, Gator head coach Ben Mourer was chosen as the PAC Coach of the Year.

There will be a lot of new event winners at this year's Championships, as only three individual champions are back from 2023. They include Allegheny junior Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy), who won the shot put, Washington & Jefferson junior Anna Stroup (Port Royal, Pa./Juniata), the winner of the 60-meter Hurdles, and Westminster senior Emma Rudolph (Santa Clarita, Calif./Golden Valley), who took first in the pole vault.

Entering into this year's PAC Championships, Stroup and Rudolph have the top performances in those events on the current PAC Performance List, while Miller is ranked fifth in the shot put.

At the conclusion of Thursday’s championships, the PAC will recognize its team champions, as well the event's Most Outstanding Performers (overall, track, field), Newcomers of the Year, Coaches of the Year and Sportsmanship Team honorees.

The NCAA Division III Championships are slated for Friday-Saturday, March 8-9 and will be held at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va.
