TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - The 2023 Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Men’s Tennis Championship Tournament will get underway with quarterfinal round action Tuesday, April 25th.

This year's PAC Championship Tournament will feature a six-team championship bracket format.  

In their first season back in the PAC, Allegheny College earned the top seed after posting an unblemished 8-0 mark in the PAC and 14-4 overall record. The Gators, along with No. 2 Grove City College (12-5, 7-1 PAC), will receive quarterfinal byes. 

In this year's quarterfinal round, the third seed Saint Vincent College (9-6, 6-2 PAC) will host sixth-seeded Westminster College (4-9, 3-5 PAC), while the other quarterfinal will pit #5 Geneva College (7-6, 4-4 PAC) at #4 Franciscan University (6-11, 5-3 PAC). 

Tuesday's quarterfinal matches will be played using the nine-point team format with matches played to completion. 

The winner of the Saint Vincent/Westminster quarterfinal will travel to Grove City for a Thursday semifinal and top-seeded Allegheny will host the winner of the Franciscan/Geneva, with that semifinal also to be played Thursday.

The semifinal winners will play in the PAC Tournament Championship match on Saturday, April 29, with that match being held at The Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, Pa. First serve will be at 4 p.m. for the title match. Semifinal and championship matches will use the nine-point team format with the first team to five (5) individual match wins moving forward.

The winner of the PAC Championship Tournament will receive the conference's automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. Team selections for the Division III Championships will be announced on Monday, May 1 with first-, second- and third-round matches slated for Friday-Sunday, May 5-7. NCAA Team Quarterfinals are set for May 13, Semifinals will be May 15 and the Team Finals are May 16.

The 2022 title was won by top-seeded Grove City, who claimed a 5-1 decision over No. 3 Saint Vincent. The Wolverines earned the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, where they fell by a 5-0 score in the opening round to Ohio Northern. It was Grove City's 29th PAC championship, including 26 straight team titles from 1991-2016, and the Wolverines eighth all-time NCAA appearance.
