GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--Washington & Jefferson College has earned the top seed and hosting rights for this week's Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Baseball Championship Tournament.

The league’s four-team, double-elimination championship tournament will be held Thursday-Saturday, May 12-14 at Ross Memorial Park in Washington, Pa. The PAC Sports Network (PACSN) will deliver live broadcasts of all of this year’s championship tournament games at pacstream.net.

W&J (32-8, 25-2 PAC) is No. 25 in the latest Collegiate Baseball/American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Division III Poll and receiving votes in the latest D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Top 25. The Presidents are No. 5 in Region VII in the lastest NCAA Division III regional rankings. 

This is W&J’s fifth-straight year serving as the league’s championship tournament host. The Presidents, led by 20th-year head coach Jeff Mountain, are making their 13th-straight tournament appearance. W&J won its 13th PAC title in 2021.

Also earning spots in this season’s championship tournament are No. 2 Saint Vincent College (24-12, 20-6 PAC), No. 3 Grove City College (27-12, 18-8 PAC) and No. 4 Westminster College (22-17, 17-10 PAC). 

The PAC Championship Tournament winner will earn the conference’s automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. Selections for the Division III Championship are scheduled to be announced Monday, May 16 with regional preliminary round play slated for Friday-Monday, May 20-22. Regional champions will compete in the Super Regionals, a best-of-three series, to determine the eight participants in this year’s Division III College World Series, scheduled for Friday-Wednesday, June 3-8. The Division III College World Series will be held at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
