GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced its All-PAC Men's Tennis teams and annual award winners Tuesday afternoon. The All-PAC teams, along with the PAC's yearly award winners, were determined, by vote, of the league's eight head coaches.

Grove City College senior Karsten Lagerquist (Pittsburgh, Pa. | Fox Chapel) was selected as this year’s PAC Player of the Year. Franciscan University freshman Travis Mistry (Groves, Texas | Sabine Pass) was honored as the PAC Newcomer of the Year. Grove City first-year head coach Nate Horner collected PAC Coach of the Year honors.

Lagerquist is a three-time All-PAC First Team selection. He was named the championship tournament's Most Outstanding Player in 2021 and 2022. His 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles helped top-seeded Grove City earn a 5-1 decision over No. 2 Saint Vincent in the PAC Championship Tournament title match on April 30.

Lagerquist owns an 11-3 overall record at No. 1 singles this season. He was 6-0 at No. 1 singles in league play and has won nine-straight matches. Lagerquist and junior Ryne Talko (Cresson, Pa. | Bishop Guilfoyle) have a 10-3 overall record at No. 1 doubles and finished with a 7-0 mark in PAC play this season. The pair is 9-1 in their last 10 matches.

Mistry combined to go 12-2 overall and 6-0 in league play playing primarily out of the No. 2 singles position, where he was 10-1. He is 9-1 in his last 10 matches, winning the last seven straight. Mistry and senior Gary Pierre (Delmas, Port-au-Prince, Haiti | James Madison) were 6-8 at the No. 1 doubles spot, going 4-1 against PAC opposition.

Horner led Grove City to the program's second-straight PAC Championship Tournament title and 29th all-time league championship. Grove City is currently 16-2 overall and went 7-0 in league play.

Also announced Tuesday were the members of this year's PAC Sportsmanship Team. The PAC’s Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to both recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all conference teams.

As the winner of this year's PAC Championship Tournament, Grove City received the conference's automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship and will face Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Ohio Northern (22-4) in the first round of the Division III Championship Friday at Case Western Reserve. It will be Grove City's eight all-time appearance in the Division III Championship. Last season, Grove City defeated Roger Williams in the first round, 5-0, before dropping a 5-0 decision to Brandeis in the second round. Grove City is 3-4 all-time in NCAA Tournament first round matches.
