Week 4 PAC Honors (for events between April 4-10)
The weekly award winners have been recognized for their performances during Week 4 of the 2022 season.
 

PAC Track Athlete of the Week

Joey Bujdos • Saint Vincent • Junior • Indiana, Pa. | Indiana  Bujdos won the 800-meter run at Saturday’s Westminster Invitational with a career-best time of 1 minute, 54.07 seconds… It is the top time in the league’s performance list and ranks second in the Mid-Atlantic Region… Bujdos’ 800 time also ranks 27th in Division III.

Other notable performers from last week

Franciscan junior David Cappello (Orchard Park, N.Y. | Orchard Park) was the runner-up in the 400 (51.37) and led off the third-place 4x400 (3:35.21) at Westminster… Grove City senior Andrew Longjohn (Pittsburgh, Pa. | North Hills) was fifth in the 100 (11.45) and third in the long jump (6.38m, 20-11.25) at Westminster… W&J sophomore Ian Baughman (Oxford, Pa. | Oxford) was third in the 400 hurdles (57.90) and sixth in the 110 hurdles (16.15) at Westminster… Waynesburg sophomore Cole Thiec (Stoneboro, Pa. | Lakeview) was 10th in the 400 (1:03.89) at Westminster… Westminster senior Jacob Patton (Harrisville, Pa. | Moniteau) was the runner-up in the 400 hurdles (56.20) and led off the winning 4x400 relay (3:27.84) at Westminster… His time in the 400 hurdles tops the league’s performance list… The 4x400 relay also owns the PAC’s top time… Patton was also ninth in the pole vault (3.67m, 12-00.50) and javelin (46.08m, 151-02).

 

PAC Field Athlete of the Week

Joseph Kurelowech • Westminster • Sophomore • Erie, Pa. | McDowell     Kurelowech won the pole vault Saturday at the Westminster Invitational with a personal-best jump of 4.57 meters (15-00)... It is currently the top jump in the PAC and is tied for the 26th-best mark in Division III.

Other notable performers from last week

Bethany junior Ben Fedoush (Weirton, W.Va. | Weir) was the runner-up in the discus (43.94m, 144-02) at Westminster… It is the No. 2 throw in the PAC… Grove City sophomore Nick Gustafson (Newburg, Pa. | Shippensburg) won the shot put (14.71m, 48-03.25) at Westminster… It is the top throw in the PAC and ranks fourth in the Mid-Atlantic Region… W&J sophomore Declan Fricko (New Bethlehem, Pa. | Butler) was fifth in the high jump (1.80m, 5-10.75) at Westminster… Waynesburg freshman Garrett Hillard (Greenville, Pa. | Greenville) finished ninth in the shot put (11.95m, 39-02.50) and 15th in the hammer throw (25.74m, 84-05) at Westminster.

   

PAC Rookie of the Week

Joseph Allred • Grove City • Freshman • Des Moines, Wash. | Mount Rainier     Allred recorded a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter dash Saturday at the Westminster Invitational, posting a time of 53.34 seconds… He also finished 20th in the 200-meter dash (24.40) and ran the third leg of Grove City’s seventh-place 4x400-meter relay (3:42.01).

Other notable performers from last week

W&J freshman Brock Pennington (North East, Pa. | North East) finished ninth in the 5,000 (15:52.32) at Westminster… Waynesburg freshman Zach Berrott (Plum, Pa. | Plum) was 12th in the 100 (11.78) and 16th in the 200 (24.06) at Westminster.
