W&J to host PAC Baseball Championship Tournament

GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--Fourth-ranked Washington & Jefferson College has earned the top seed and hosting rights for this week's Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Baseball Championship Tournament.

The league’s four-team, double-elimination championship tournament will be held Thursday-Saturday, May 13-15 at Ross Memorial Park in Washington, Pa. The PAC Sports Network (PACSN) will deliver live broadcasts of all of this year’s championship tournament games at pacstream.net.

This is W&J’s fourth-straight year serving as the league’s championship tournament host. The Presidents, led by 19th-year head coach Jeff Mountain, are making their 12th-straight tournament appearance. W&J (33-1) won its 12th PAC title in 2019.

Also earning spots in this season’s championship tournament are No. 2 Grove City College (27-8) and No. 3 Franciscan University (16-17). 

Bethany College (16-20) will travel to Saint Vincent College (14-16) for a single nine-inning play-in game Tuesday at 3 p.m. for the fourth and final seed in the championship tournament. 

The winner of this year's PAC Championship Tournament will earn the league's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship, with regional round play scheduled for Thursday-Monday, May 27-31. Team selections for the Division III Championship are scheduled to be announced Sunday, May 23.
