Thiel Leads PAC Programs in WBCA Academic Top 25

Tomcats rank 18th, three others among Special Mention

ATLANTA, Ga. (pacathletics.org) - Four Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) programs were recognized for academic excellence during this past season when they were highlighted on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll, as announced by the WBCA July 21st.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2025-26 season is the 31st in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

The leading PAC school in the Academic Top 25 was Thiel College. Led by head coach Jess Vormelker, the Tomcats ranked 18th in Division III with a team GPA of 3.766. This is the second year in a row Thiel has finished in the top 20 after the Tomcats ranked seventh a year ago with a 3.802 GPA.

Three other PAC programs were among teams listed on the Special Mention list, which included teams who finished with a team GPA above 3.188. Those programs included Waynesburg University, under head coach Sam Jones, who finished with a 3.638 GPA; Chatham University, led by head coach David Saur, who compiled a 3.605 GPA; and Westminster College, under head coach Rose Scott, who posted a 3.465 GPA.
