Three from PAC Earn D3hoops.com All-Region

TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - Three players from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) have been voted to the D3hoops.com Women's Basketball All-Region 7 team, the 25th year the national website named All-Region teams.

Those earning All-Region honors, making them eligible for D3hoops.com All-America selection, include Chatham University senior forward Madison Nereu (Cary, N.C./Roanoke College) and Washington & Jefferson College graduate student guard Riley DeRubbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity) on Second Team and Allegheny College sophomore guard Isabella Antonacci (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) on Third Team.

This marks the most PAC players with D3hoops.com All-Region laurels since the conference landed four on the 2017-18 teams.

Nereu's All-Region recognition is added to her PAC Player of the Year and First Team All-PAC honors. The 5'10" forward led the PAC in scoring with 18.4 points per game, ranked fourth in rebounding with 9.4 boards a contest and also tied for fifth with 55 steals. Her 187 made field goals were the most in a season in Chatham program history and ranked first in the conference, while her 51.1 shooting percentage from the floor was fifth-best in the PAC.

Nereu finished the season with a dozen double-doubles, highlighted by a 23-point, 17-rebound outburst in a Feb. 14th win over Geneva. She also recorded nine games with 20+ points, including two 30-point performances. Nereu was also named to the PAC All-Tournament Team after averaging 17.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals in the Cougars' two contests.

A First Team All-PAC selection as well, DeRubbo led the Presidents to their second consecutive PAC title and NCAA Tournament appearance. She led the team and tied for fifth in the PAC in scoring with 15.2 points per game, while also posting team-highs in rebounding (6.3) and three-pointers (59). DeRubbo also ranked second in the conference and 29th in Division III in free throw percentage (85.2).

The 5'9" guard scored in double figures 25 times this season and tallied 20 points or more on five occasions. She also earned a spot on the PAC All-Tournament Team after posting 16.0 points and five rebounds per game across the Presidents' three wins to secure the conference title.

Antonacci adds this All-Region award to her First Team All-PAC selections, as well as being announced as a finalist for the coveted Jostens Award. One of the top point guards in the country, she ranks sixth in the country in assists per game (5.5), ninth in total assists (143), and 21st in assist/turnover ratio (2.01). Also the Gators' top scorer, she was third in the league with 17.1 points per game, fifth in free throw percentage (83.0) and ninth in field goal percentage (42.6).

Highlighted by a 36-point performance in the season-opener against No. 6 Washington and Lee University, Antonacci reached double figures in scoring in 25 of 26 games. She logged three double-doubles and earned a rare triple-double with 13 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists in a 61-45 win over Franciscan University on February 14.

The 29th D3hoops.com women's basketball All-America team will be released March 21 at the national championship game.
