AUSTIN, Texas (pacathletics.org) - Recent Saint Vincent College graduate Carolina Walters (Latrobe, Pa./Homeschooled) earned Academic All-America® distinction from the College Sports Communicators, per the release from the CSC Tuesday afternoon.

Walters concludes her impressive Saint Vincent playing career with the very prestigious award. Carolina was one of just 17 women's tennis players across the country in NCAA Division III to earn the award. She was named to the CSC Academic All-America® Third Team. She becomes the first to earn CSC Academic All-America® in the program's history and was one of only six of the recipients who boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA. The award was voted on by members of the CSC across the country.

This makes Walters just the sixth Saint Vincent student-athlete to earn Academic All-America® honors and first since Sydney Green was Third Team for Women's Track and Field/Cross Country in 2022. That same year was the last time a PAC women's tennis player collected Academic All-America® accolades when Maya Krishnasamy from Washington & Jefferson College earned Third Team in the Women's At-Large category.

Walters was a two-sport athlete at Saint Vincent competing in both women's tennis and women's lacrosse. Carolina's achievements in tennis allowed her to become the top player in the program's history. She is the program's all-time wins leader, while earning All-Conference honors in all four years of her Bearcats career, and was named the PAC Women's Tennis Player of the Year once in her four years as well. On the lacrosse field, she compiled over 140 career points, while also earning All-Conference honors throughout her career as well.

Off the tennis court and lacrosse field, Walters was a standout in the classroom as well, achieving a 4.0 GPA in every semester throughout her collegiate career. She earned CSC Academic All-District honors multiple times throughout her Saint Vincent career, including one earlier this month. Recently, she earned the Saint Vincent College Athletic Department's Kristen Zawacki Award, which honors an excellent student athlete who demonstrated service to the Saint Vincent College community.

Walters was an active member of the Saint Vincent community during her four years as well, being a part of campus ministry and many other clubs on campus. Carolina was a member of the PAC Academic Honor Roll in every season during her career as well. Carolina was also Saint Vincent's recipient of the PAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, which she was honored for at the PAC Scholar-Athlete Banquet last month.

Walters graduated from Saint Vincent with a degree in philosophy. She plans to continue working in publishing as an editor
