Grove City Places Four on USILA All-American Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (pacathletics.org) - Four members of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) champion Grove City College men's lacrosse team were recently recognized as Honorable Mention All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).

The four Wolverines who were honored included senior defender Sam Stevenson (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove), senior faceoff specialist Colton Lehberg (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Santa Fe Christian), graduate student defender Samuel Busby (Doswell, Va./Patrick Henry) and junior short-stick defensive midfielder Josh McDermott (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./Santa Margarita). All were also First Team All-PAC selections.

The 2026 PAC Defensive Player of the Year and now two-time USILA All-American, Stevenson led Grove City with 22 caused turnovers this year. In conference play, he helped the Wolverines limit opponents to 3.89 goals per game. Grove City then allowed only four goals in the conference tournament, including an 18-0 win over Westminster in the semifinals. Stevenson has also scored a career-high 15 goals in 2026, while scooping 54 ground balls, second on the team. 

Lehberg, the 2026 PAC Specialist of the Year, earned his initial All-American award after he led the PAC by winning 66.8 percent (223-334) of his faceoffs this year. He also paced Grove City and ranked second in the PAC with 134 ground balls, along with posting four goals and four assists. In conference play, Lehberg won 85.1 percent (80-94) faceoffs. For his career, Lehberg won 64.3 percent of his overall faceoff opportunities.

Busby joined Stevenson in leading Grove City's defensive efforts this year, which included holding seven teams to five goals or less. He started 21 games this year while causing 21 turnovers. A first-year starter, Busby picked up 37 ground balls. 

McDermott aided Grove City's defensive efforts by causing 10 turnovers and picking up 22 ground balls. He has also recorded six assists this year, including an assist in each of Grove City's conference tournament wins.

Aided by their four All-Americans, Grove City posted a 14-8 overall record and claimed its seventh consecutive conference title. The Wolverines won 14-9 at Ohio Wesleyan in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament before being edged at No. 8 Lynchburg 16-15 in the second round of the tournament.

Grove City has now had 14 men's lacrosse players earn All-America distinction since the program's 2018 inception.
