TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - Washington & Jefferson College senior Josh Dezenzo (Alliance, Ohio/Marlington) was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for games covering March 30-April 5, his second consecutive appearance on the national website's weekly honor roll
This is the 15th season of D3baseball.com's Team of the Week recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the eighth Team of the Week of the 2026 season.
The recognition makes it repeat honors again for Dezenzo, who has also been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Hitter of the Week in back-to-back weeks.
Selected as the DH on the Team of the Week, Dezenzo finished last week going 9-for-12 (.750) at the plate with a 1.667 slugging percentage and a .769 on base percentage in three games. He also mashed three homers, two doubles and had nine RBIs. In the opening game of the week against Muskingum, Dezenzo was 2-for-3 at the plate with one double.
He then sparked the Presidents to a sweep over Allegheny Saturday, which kept W&J (17-3, 8-0) undefeated in the PAC. In game one, the senior went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and a double in a 17-7 victory. Then in a 10-6 win in the nightcap, Dezenzo bashed two more homers while finishing a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBIs and a walk.
The big week has elevated Dezenzo to first in all of Division III in slugging percentage (.957) and fifth in the country in doubles per game (0.65). In addition, he currently leads the PAC in batting average (.478); on-base percentage (.602); OPS (1.559); runs (30); doubles (13) and tied for first with six home runs.
