IRVING, Texas (pacathletics.org) - The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced a record number of members for the 2026 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which featured 35 student-athletes from five Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) programs.

Created in 2007, the NFF Hampshire Honor Society is one of the most comprehensive scholar-athlete initiatives in college athletics, recognizing football players from all divisions who have maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or higher throughout their college careers.

Nominated by their respective schools, members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must be either be a senior player, who will graduate this spring/summer, and just completed his final year of playing eligibility in 2025; or a graduated player or grad transfer, who has already earned a bachelor’s degree and competed in the 2025 season (even if the player has remaining eligibility and may return to play next season).

Case Western Reserve University led the PAC schools and all NCAA Division III teams with 23 honorees, which is also the most members from a single institution overall among all divisions in 2026. They were followed by Washington & Jefferson College and Westminster College with four, Allegheny College placed three on the list and Waynesburg University put one in this year's Honor Society.

The 2026 Honor Society class included 2,596 players from 365 schools qualified, establishing a new record for the largest class in 20-year history of the program. The initiative has now honored 23,568 student-athletes from 691 schools since its inception.

In addition to this recognition for their academic excellence, nine were voted as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® honorees. In addition to their academic efforts, 11 players were named to All-PAC teams for their play on the field in 2025.

The NFF Hampshire Honor Society capitalizes on the NFF’s National Scholar-Athlete program by greatly expanding the number of scholar-athletes the NFF can recognize each year. The program further strengthens the organization’s leadership role in encouraging academic performance by the student-athletes at the 774 colleges and universities with football programs nationwide.

The Hampshire Honor Society represents an important component in the organization's rich history as an innovator in promoting the scholar-athlete ideal, which began in 1959 with the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Awards.
