Grove City Men, Women Take Lead at PAC Swimming & Diving Championships

GROVE CITY, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - After winning three relays and three individual events on the women's side and three relays and one individual race on the men's, Grove City College is atop both leaderboards at the 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Swimming & Diving Championships following the first three sessions.

Men's Team Scoring
Grove City has amassed 364 points through seven men's events to surge into first place. Washington & Jefferson College is in second place with 267 points, just barely in front of Saint Vincent College, who is third with 264. Rounding out the rankings is Hiram College in fourth place with 119 points, followed by Chatham University in fifth (101), Westminster College in sixth (83) and Allegheny College in seventh (56).

Women's Team Scoring 
Grove City's six first place finishes so far has the Wolverines out to a comfortable lead with 434 points, well in front of second-place Saint Vincent, who has scored 238. Sitting in third is Westminster with 184 points, with Allegheny ranking fourth with 148 points and W&J is fifth with 140. Completing the standings is Chatham in sixth (105), Franciscan University in seventh (73) and Bethany College in eighth (4).


Men's Highlights through Thursday
- In Wednesday's night's first event, Grove City won the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:28.04, which set a new PAC Championships and pool record and also surpassed the NCAA Championship "B" cut qualifying standard.
- The Wolverines closed out Wednesday by winning the 800 Free Relay by nine seconds over the runner-up.
- Saint Vincent freshman William Schauss was first to the wall in the 500 Free and his winning time was more than a second and half quicker than last year's first place time.
- Grove City junior Owen Hancock had a record-breaking performance in the 200 Individual Medley, as his victory with a time of 1:51.53 set a new pool and PAC Championship record.
- The 50 Free saw multiple record-breaking times. In the morning prelims, Grove City senior Caleb Einolf set a new PAC and pool record with a time of 20.05 seconds, which is also a "B" cut time.
- That record lasted for all of one heat, as defending champion, Saint Vincent senior Jacob Dzurica, set new PAC and pool standards by touching in 19.72 seconds in the fourth and final heat in the morning.
- The two matched up in the final Thursday night and Dzurica would win his second consecutive PAC crown in the 50 by posting a finals time of 20.08 seconds.
- There was another repeat winner in the next event when W&J sophomore Zachary Lloyd won the PAC championship for the second year in a row in three-meter diving with a finals score of 437.52.
- Another record fell, the fourth in seven men's events, in Thursday's final race. Grove City posted a winning time of 3:17.57, which broke PAC Championship and pool records while also being a "B" cut time.


Women's Highlights through Thursday
- Grove City also started Wednesday by winning both relays contested, starting with a first place in the 200 Medley Relay, as the Wolverines' time of 1:46.72 more than five seconds faster than last year's top mark.
- The 800 Free Relay was also won by Grove City, who clocked in with a time of 7:50.74, which clipped more than five seconds off the Wolverines' winning time in 2025.
- In the first individual event of the Championships, Saint Vincent's Rachel Hutchinson went back-to-back by winning the 500 Free for the second year in a row, as her winning time was more than six seconds ahead of her time last year.
- First-year competitors were the story in the next three events. Grove City freshman Abigail Vance started the freshmen run by winning the 200 IM, as she came in four seconds quicker than last year's winning time.
- Another Wolverine freshman, Abby Tweed, would earn the win in the 50 Free in 24.35 seconds, .14 in front of the runner-up.
- The third straight Grove City first-year PAC champion came in diving, where freshman Chaeli Keenan scored 409.65 on the one-meter board, which was also an NCAA Regionally qualifying score.
- Closing out Thursday's session was the 400 Medley Relay, which was won by Grove City and their time was more than a second better than the Wolverines' 2025 championship time in the event.

What's Ahead
- Friday's preliminaries get underway and the day's events include: 400 IM; 100 Fly; 200 Free; 100 Breast; 100 Back; Men's 1-meter diving; 200 Free Relay.
