GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - Thiel College Director of Athletics Isaac Collins announced the promotion of Marina Adelizzio to Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Tuesday.

Adelizzio has been a dedicated member of the Thiel College women's lacrosse program, serving as Assistant Coach for the past two seasons. In her time on staff, she has played a vital role in the development, conditioning and overall success of the Tomcats both on and off the field.

"We are excited to name Marina Adelizzio as the next Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at Thiel," Collins said. "Marina has earned the trust of our student-athletes and staff through her commitment, consistency, and care for the total development of our players—academically, athletically, and personally."

A native of East Amherst, N.Y., Adelizzio was a standout midfielder at Edinboro University, where she combined her on-field leadership with an understanding of sport performance. At Thiel, she also has been instrumental in designing strength, conditioning and fitness programming that supports athletic performance across the roster.

"Throughout this search process, Marina demonstrated a clear vision for the future of our program, a deep understanding of our culture and a strong desire to build something sustainable and meaningful," Collins added. "She brings passion for the game, a relentless work ethic and a student-athlete–centered approach that aligns directly with Thiel's mission and values."

Adelizzio earned her bachelor's degree in health and physical education with a focus in sport and recreation administration and a minor in fitness instruction. In addition to her coaching duties, she holds certifications in personal training and sports nutrition.

"I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to lead this program as Head Coach," said Adelizzio. "I believe in this team, culture and what we are building together. I am excited to bring my knowledge and love for lacrosse to this group and help our athletes grow on and off the field this season."

As Head Coach, Adelizzio will lead all aspects of the women's lacrosse program, including recruiting, player development and community engagement, while guiding the Tomcats in competition and continuing their commitment to academic and athletic success.

The Tomcats will begin their 2026 campaign on Feb. 17 at home as they host Ursuline College at 5 p.m. in the Rissell-Schreyer Dome.
