2025 All-PAC Men's Tennis Teams, Award Winners Released

TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - The 2025 All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) men's tennis teams and annual award winners were released Tuesday morning. The conference's nine head coaches vote to determine the All-PAC teams, along with the yearly award winners.

After winning their third consecutive PAC championship, the Allegheny College program also swept all three major awards. Senior Anton Hedlund was chosen as the PAC Player of the Year for the third year in a row, while Gator freshman Kristian Janci earned the PAC Newcomer of the Year. Rounding out the top awards was Allegheny fourth-year head coach Dave Hayden receiving PAC Coach of the Year recognition.

Hedlund capped a remarkable career for the Gators by posting a 24-6 singles record through the year, which included going 8-0 against PAC opponents. He was just as impressive in doubles competition, going 25-7, which tied him with Cole and Tyler Triolo '16 for the most doubles wins in a season. The second-winningest student-athlete in Allegheny men's tennis history with 152 career wins, Hedlund also earned his third straight Most Outstanding Player in the PAC Tournament after he won 6-0, 6-0 in second singles in the semifinal triumph over Saint Vincent and was victorious at first doubles and second singles in the 4-0 win over Grove City in the final.

The third straight PAC Player of the Year award for Hedlun puts him in rare company in the conference. He joins Saint Vincent's Jonathan Pritchard (2016-18), Grove City Patrick Donahue (2001-03) and Grove City's Srinivasan Balaji (1991-94) as the only players since 1991 to win at least three consecutive PAC Player of the Year awards.

Janci is the second Allegheny player to collect the top Newcomer award, joining 2023 winner Ethan Carr. Janci compiled a 14-2 record in singles action, playing mostly at No. 1. That included a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the PAC semifinals against Grove City and a 6-2, 6-1 win in the NCAA match against Nichols. Janci was also 15-3 in doubles play, which was highlighted by a 6-1 win in the PAC title match against Grove City and a hard-fought 7-5 decision in the Nichols match at NCAA Championships.

Hayden is the conference's Coach of the Year for the third straight season after guiding the Gators to a PAC three-peat. Allegheny finished 8-0 in PAC play for their third consecutive unbeaten regular season in conference play and would earn the seventh league championship in program history. Hayden led Allegheny to a 21-7 record this season, which tied the single-season program record for wins, matching the 1995-96 team that went 21-5.

Also announced were the members of this year's PAC Sportsmanship Team, which are linked above. The PAC's Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to both recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all conference teams.

By winning this year's PAC Championship Tournament, Allegheny earned the conference's automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. The Gators reached the second round of the Championships, as they defeated Nichols College in the opening round 4-0 before dropping their second-round match to seventh-ranked Middlebury College.
