TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - Propelled by a combined 11 conference championships through the year, Grove City College won both the Women's and Men's All-Sports Trophies for the 2024-25 academic year, the second consecutive year the Wolverines swept both trophies.

The all-sports trophies are annually awarded to the schools which perform the best across the board in league competition. First-place finishes are worth 11 points, runner-up finishes are worth 10 points ... last place is worth one point.

Grove City's men's title is their third in a row and fourth in the last five years. The Wolverines were in second place behind Washington & Jefferson College following the winter, but PAC titles in baseball, lacrosse and outdoor track and field were part of a huge spring for Grove City, who captured their 15th Men's All-Sports Trophy in the school's history.

In winning their second consecutive women's trophy and third in the last four years, Grove City's women also needed a spring comeback after trailing Allegheny following the fall and winter. But crowns in lacrosse and outdoor track and field and a runner-up showing in softball was enough to vault the Wolverines into first place and clinch the program's 21st all-time Women's All-Sports Trophy.

The Grove City sweep is the 11th time the same school has claimed both trophies in the last 36 years. This is the ninth time Grove City has captured both trophies and the Wolverines are the first PAC program to repeat sweep since Grove City took both trophies in 2000-01 and 2001-02.

Men
With their three spring titles, as well as second-place finishes in tennis and volleyball, Grove City scored a remarkable 61 points in the spring and finished with 118 points for the year, breaking their Wolverines' record of 108 set last year. The Wolverines finished the year with six conference titles (football; swimming and diving; indoor and outdoor track and field; baseball; lacrosse), the most men's championships won by a school since Grove City also won six in 1998-99. Coupling the six crowns with three runner-up finishes, Grove City placed in the top two in nine of the PAC's 13 men's championship sports this year.

With 103 total points, W&J placed second in the Men's All-Sports standings for the third consecutive year. The Presidents had PAC titles in football and wrestling and second-place showings in basketball, swimming and diving and golf. Aided by a strong winter with a second in wrestling and third places in basketball and swimming & diving, Saint Vincent College scored 89.5 points to earn third place for the second straight year. Boosted by spring PAC crowns in tennis and golf, Allegheny College totaled 84 points to secure fourth place.

Westminster College came in fifth overall with 75.5 points, while Geneva College finished sixth with 72 points and Thiel College, off the strength of winning the first PAC men's volleyball championship, jumped from 10th after the winter into seventh place overall with 54 points. In eighth place was Franciscan University (53.5), followed by Chatham University (52), Waynesburg University (45.5) and Bethany College (45).

Women
A new highest point total record was also set on the women's side after Grove City recorded 104.5 points for the year to surpass the Wolverines' total of 99 from last year. The spring championships in lacrosse and outdoor track and field and the runner-up in softball helped give Grove City 39 points this spring to move up from second place following the winter to secure the trophy again. Grove City completed this academic year with five league crowns, matching their total from last season, adding their spring victories to soccer, swimming and diving and indoor track and field. With second places in softball and cross country as well, Grove City was either first or second in seven of the 11 championship sports offered by the PAC.

Allegheny, who used crowns in cross country, tennis and volleyball to build a lead the Gators maintained through the fall and winter, registered 99 points to come in second place. Westminster, the PAC champions in golf and softball, matched Grove City with 39 points in the spring to climb into third place overall with 88 points, while W&J, the winners in basketball in the winter and second-place finishers in golf this spring, surpassed two teams from the winter standings to take fourth place with 73 points.

Earning fifth place was Saint Vincent with 67.5 points, followed by Chatham in sixth place (64) and Franciscan in seventh (55). Geneva placed eighth (42.5), with Thiel (40.5), Waynesburg (34.5) and Bethany (32.5) rounding out the standings.
