TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - The Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) continues its tradition of recognizing outstanding student-athletes each month through its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Scholar-Athlete honors.
The conference selects one male and one female upperclassmen varsity student-athlete who exemplify excellence in academics, athletics, and impact their communities on campus. The honored athletes must hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
For the month of September, the PAC recognizes Washington & Jefferson College junior women’s soccer player Alexa Taylor and Westminster College senior men’s soccer player Orrin Milcic for their achievements in the classroom, on the field, and on campus.
Alexa Taylor – Washington & Jefferson College
Taylor, a junior nursing major from Aliquippa, Pa., has distinguished herself as a leader both academically and athletically at W&J. A graduate of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School, Taylor maintains a 3.71 GPA while contributing significantly to the Presidents’ women’s soccer program.
Taylor has been recognized for her academic achievements through numerous honors, including the 2025-26 Theresa P. Yeo, Ph.D. and Charles J. Yeo, M.D. Prize Fund for Nursing Students, presented during W&J’s Honors Convocation. She was also named a 2025-26 Scholar in Nursing and earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District recognition in 2025. Her additional honors include multiple Dean’s List and Alpha-Beta Scholar selections, along with recognition on the 2024 PAC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
On the field, Taylor continues to make an impact as one of the Presidents’ leading offensive players. Named a 2026 PAC Women’s Soccer Player to Watch, she currently leads her team in goals (four), points (eight), and shots on goal (14) during the 2026 season. She has accumulated 10 career goals, including four game-winning goals. Taylor was also named PAC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 8, 2025.
Beyond the classroom and soccer field, Taylor demonstrates a strong commitment to leadership and service. She has served as president of W&J’s Nursing Club since September 2025, coordinating educational, service, networking, and awareness events.
Taylor also gains valuable hands-on experience through her clinical work at UPMC Washington, where she has developed patient-care skills, including taking vital signs, conducting physical assessments, and safely administering medications.
Her campus involvement extends to Kappa Kappa Gamma, Order of Omega, Alpha Lambda Delta, the Washington Fellows Leadership Program, and the Panhellenic Council, where she serves as a Rho Gamma, guiding potential new members through primary recruitment.
Orrin Milcic– Westminster College
Milcic, a senior history major pursuing secondary education at Westminster, has established himself as a dedicated student-athlete and contributor to the Titans’ men’s soccer program. A native of Butler, Pa., Milcic attended Knoch through a homeschooling program and maintains an impressive 3.95 GPA.
His academic and athletic accomplishments include six Dean’s List selections and three appearances on the PAC Academic Honor Roll, demonstrating a consistent commitment to excellence throughout his collegiate career. He was also named an Honorable Mention All-PAC selection for the 2025 season and CSC Academic All-District Men’s Soccer selections in both 2024-25 and 2025-26.
Milcic has also played an important role in helping Westminster get off to one of its strongest starts during his four years with the program. Just in the month of September, Milcic recorded 11 shots, seven shots on goal, and one assist while logging 737 minutes of playing time. He started all nine games during that span and helped the Titans secure two shutout victories.
As a senior, Milcic’s experience and consistency have contributed to Westminster’s success, while his academic record reflects the dedication required to balance collegiate athletics with the demands of a history and secondary education curriculum.
