PAC Announces All-Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Teams 3/7/2025 12:00:00 PM TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - A total of 41 student-athletes were recognized Friday when the 2024-25 All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Swimming and Diving teams were released. The all-conference swimming and diving teams are determined by a formula-based selection process using student-athletes' individual and relay finishes at the league's annual championships. Nineteen were recognized with First Team All-PAC accolades, with 18 being named Second Team All-PAC and four receiving Honorable Mention laurels. The all-conference representation was led by champion Grove City College, who placed a total of 18 on the All-PAC teams, including 12 on First Team. Washington & Jefferson College was next with nine on the all-conference lists, followed by Saint Vincent College and Westminster College with six each. Allegheny College and Chatham University completed the All-PAC squads with one apiece. Grove City closed out its 25th overall conference championship and seventh in a row after amassing 1,087 total points over the championship event, which was held Feb. 19-22 at Grove City's James E. Longnecker Pool. The runner-up was W&J, who totaled 635 points, while Saint Vincent finished in third place with 589 points, followed by Westminster (468), Chatham (250), Allegheny (234) and Bethany College (eight). The First Team All-PAC group is headlined by Saint Vincent junior Jacob Dzurica (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield), the PAC Swimmer of the Year after he won the 50 Free, 100 Back and 100 Free. His 100 Back time (49.34) set a new PAC record and he hit NCAA Provisional standards in the prelims of the 50 Free (20.08) and the finals of the 100 Free (44.44). In addition to becoming the first Bearcat to win Swimmer of the Year since Zach Baum in 2020, Dzurica did qualify for NCAA Championships and will compete in the 50 and 100 Free and 100 Back at nationals, which will take place March 19-22 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. Earning PAC Newcomer of the Year, as well as First Team All-PAC, was Westminster freshman Jack Katigbak (North Canton, Ohio/Lake Center Christian), marking the first time a Westminster men's swimmer has earned the top newcomer honor. He posted second-place finishes in the 100 Back and 200 Back and also placed 11th overall in the 50 Free and third among freshmen in the race. Katigbak was also on the Titans' 400 Medley Relay which finished fourth. Sweeping the PAC titles on the diving boards was W&J freshman Zach Lloyd (Dillsburg, Pa./Lloyd Academy-Homeschooled), as he earned PAC Diver of the Year. He is the first President to win Diver of the Year since Theo Skoric won both diving crowns to earn the honor in 2017. His first win came on the one-meter board with a score of 452.10 in the finals. Then on the final night at Championships, Loyd completed his sweep by winning the three-meter event after scoring 362.25. The First Team All-PAC list also has three swimmers who won multiple individual events at Championships. That includes two from Grove City, including junior Will Sterrett (Wilmington, N.C./Hoggard). the PAC champion in the 200 IM (1:51.93-PAC record), 400 IM (4:04.72) and 200 Back (1:52.00) and Wolverine sophomore Owen Hancock (Brunswick, Ohio/Westside Christian), who swam to PAC titles in the 100 Fly (48.74) and 200 Fly (1:51.89-PAC record). Also claiming a pair of PAC championships was Westminster senior Sam Duda (Tulsa, Okla./Bishop Kelley), who won the 500 Free (4:47.22) and the 1,650 Free (16:48.12). Another Grove City swimmer who made First Team All-PAC after an outstanding performance at Championships was junior Caleb Einolf (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown). He set a conference-record while winning the 100 Breaststroke in 53.77, which is the sixth-fastest time in Division III this year to qualify for NCAA Championships. Einolf also qualified for NCAAs in the 100 Fly and will compete in the 100 Free at nationals as well. In addition to his PAC championship and record in the 100 Breast, Einolf swam on four winning relays at Championships, including teams in the 200 Medley (1:29.36), 400 Medley (3:17.69) and 400 Free (3:00.82) which set conference records. The conference coaching awards were both won by W&J. Seventh-year head coach Matt Rochna was named the PAC Men's Coach of the Year for the first time after leading the Presidents to a second place showing, their highest placement since 2016. Following Lloyd winning the Diver of the Year, W&J's Josh Vasko was named the PAC Diving Coach of the Year, his first men's award and second conference honor after he was the Women's Diving Coach of the Year in 2022. Also released Friday was the 2024-25 Men's Swimming & Diving Sportsmanship Team (linked above). The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams and student-athletes.
