Brunner, Bennett Earn All-American to Highlight NCAA Championships 3/15/2025 9:35:00 PM ROCHESTER, N.Y. (pacathletics.org) - Chatham University senior Aurielle Brunner (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) earned All-America honors in two field events and Grove City College senior Lydia Bennett (Bethel, Maine/Gould Academy) earned All-America in one track event to highlight a busy weekend for Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) athletes at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Nazareth University at the Golisano Training Center in Rochester, N.Y. Brunner's pair of All-American honors now gives her seven in her career, including three in indoor after adding the two awards this weekend to her eighth-place showing in the long jump at last year's national championships. Brunner's first award came Friday in the long jump. She was in fourth place after her first three attempts before climbing to second with a jump of 5.93 meters on her fourth. After a foul on her fifth try, Brunner secured her second-place finish on her final attempt with a mark of 5.97m/19-7, which set a new Chatham record as well. She finished behind only Emma Seipel from Loras College (6.00m/19-8.25), as Brunner's second place in the highest by a PAC female athlete at NCAAs since Geneva College's Nicole Bartoletta won the national title in the 60-meter hurdles in 2018. In addition to the long jump, Brunner also competed in the pentathlon Friday and finished 13th overall with a total of 3,385 points. Then on Saturday, Brunner hit the runway again for the triple jump and by hitting her best mark of 12.21m/40-0.75 on her fifth jump, she clinched sixth place overall to claim another trip to the podium for her second All-American award of the weekend. Earning the first All-America honor of her career was Bennett in the one-mile run. Needing a top-10 finish in Friday's prelims to advance to the championship heat, Bennett ran a season-best time of 4:55.15 to qualify in seventh place. In Saturday's final, Bennett was ninth after the first 200, but climbed into seventh shortly after and stayed in sixth or seventh throughout the rest of the race. She would cross the finish line in seventh place with a time of 4:52.30, which earned her All-American status and also set a new Grove City record. In addition to Brunner and Bennett, three others from the PAC competed at NCAA Championships this weekend. Westminster graduate student Breannda Davis (Streetsboro, Ohio/Streetsboro) competed in a pair of events in her first appearance at indoor nationals. She finished 18th overall in the pentathlon Friday with 3,070 points, which was highlighted by earning fifth-place points in the high jump (1.63m/5-4.25). On Saturday, Davis competed in a field of 20 athletes in the high jump. Davis was also a high jump qualifier at last year's Division III Outdoor Championships. Another Westminster graduate student, Madison Conley (New Castle, Pa./New Castle), competed in the pole vault Friday. A two-time All-American a season ago after she was seventh at both the indoor and outdoor national championships, Conley placed 18th this year after clearing 3.77m/12-4.5 on her third attempt. The only PAC male to qualify this season was Grove City junior Alex Mitchell (Hummelstown, Pa./Harrisburg Christian), who competed in the 400-meter dash Friday. Running in the fifth of six heats, Mitchell placed third in his heat and 18th overall with a time of 49.58 seconds.
