PAC Wrestler of the Week

Jessie Orbin • Waynesburg • Sophomore • Houston, Pa./Chartiers-Houston Orbin went 4-0 at 184 pounds to win the tournament title at the 38th annual John Summa Invitational at Baldwin Wallace ... He posted three bonus-point wins (two tech falls, one major decision) to reach the final at 184 ... In the final bout, Orbin defeated Region 4's No. 3 184-pounder, Remington Bauer of Baldwin Wallace, by decision (11-5) to earn his second invitational title of the season.

PAC Wrestling Newcomer of the Week

Zane Garner • Washington & Jefferson • Freshman • Washington, Pa./Trinity Garner picked up victories against Muskingum and at the Summa Invitational this past week ... In a win over the Fighting Muskies, Garner picked up his first dual victory of the season over Rushi Pata of Muskingum by tech fall (21-4) at 141 pounds ... At the Summa Invitational, Garner took seventh in the 133-pound bracket with a 2-2 record, which included an OT win and a first-period pin (1:00) in the seventh place match.

PAC Records & Milestones

Hiram's Kaelon Lawson-West, who has been one of Hiram's top wrestlers this season after sitting out 2023-24 due to injury, celebrated Senior Night in victorious fashion against Ohio Wesleyan, beating Skyler Cornell by technical fall (20-4) ... Saint Vincent's Bradley Miller closed out the Bearcats' 43-6 victory over Thiel with a first-period pin (2:38) in the bout at 285 ... After reaching the semifinals at the Summa Invitational in the 285-pound class with a pin and major decision, Thiel's Seth Phillips dropped into the consolation bracket with a loss, but then pinned Caleb Ridgeley (Baldwin Wallace) and bested Jadon Brownlee (Ohio Northern) in a 1-0 decision in the third-place bout to complete a 4-1 day ... W&J's Taylor Smith placed second in the 149-pound bracket at the Summa Invitational with a 4-1 record, using one tech fall, one major decision and a pair of pins to reach the first-place bout before he was edged by a 2-1 count in the final ... The 2025 PAC Wrestling Championships will be this Saturday, Feb. 15th, at Waynesburg University, where Saint Vincent will aim to repeat as champions after winning the title last season ...
