Grove City Repeats as PAC Indoor Champions

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO (pacathletics.org) - Thursday night at the 2025 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Track & Field Championship, held at Youngstown State University's Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS), Grove City College used three individual event and one relay title to help secure their second consecutive conference championship.

By totaling 137 team points, the Wolverines finished 25 points in front of runner-up Allegheny College, who amassed 112. Taking third was Washington & Jefferson College with 95.5 points and coming in fourth was Westminster College with 81 points. They were followed in fifth place by Geneva College with 52, Bethany College in sixth (38.5), Saint Vincent College and Waynesburg University tied for seventh (36), Franciscan University in ninth (21), Thiel College in 10th (12) and Chatham University (three).

Of the four events won by Grove City, Alex Mitchell had a hand in three of them. His day began with a conference title and PAC record in the 400 when he finished in 47.61 seconds, which also stands as the sixth-fastest time in the nation currently. Mitchell would later win a championship in the 200 (21.69) and finished the meet by anchoring the 4x400 relay that included Jeremiah Knowles, Greg Wilson and Isaac Young to a winning time of 3:23.78. Following the meet, Mitchell was named the Track MVP of the meet.

The Grove City field event win was claimed by Ryan Lenhart in the weight throw with a top effort of 14.58 meters.

Claiming two of the major awards following the meet was Allegheny's Aaron Moon, who won both the Field and overall Track & Field MVP, the second year in a row he's earned the overall award. He scored 41 total points in the meet after placing in six of his seven events. Moon was a double-winner, taking PAC crowns in the long jump (7.03 meters) and triple jump (13.75), while also finishing second in the 60 Hurdles (8.56 seconds. Moon added fourth places in the 60 (7.00) and high jump (1.88m) and a sixth place in the pole vault (3.80m).

Westminster's Aaron Hankerson earned PAC Newcomer of the Year recognition. He was the conference champion in the 60 with a finals time of 6.88 seconds, finished seventh in the 200 at 22.81 and ran on the 4x400 relay which earned fourth (3:31.14).

In addition to Mitchell and Moon, two others own multiple events. Geneva's Kevin Arseneaux repeated as PAC champion on the 800 (1:54.53) and broke his new conference record while winning the Mile in 4:12.71.

W&J's Brock Pennington not only won a pair of individual events, he also ran on a winning relay. He swept the two long distance evenst, winning the 5000 (15:32.38) and the 3000 (8:58.29) and then joined with Dom Flitcraft, Anthony Cestaro III and Julian Paul to establish a new PAC record in the Distance Medley Relay with a time of 10:32.15.

For the second year, Grove City's Jessica Cooper was voted the conference's Coach of the Year.
