Women's Soccer 2025 All-PAC Teams, Major Awards Announced

Women's Soccer | 11/12/2025 7:45:00 PM

TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - The 2025 All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) women's soccer teams and yearly award winners, voted on by the league's 12 head coaches, were announced Wednesday evening, with the teams first revealed during an announcement show through the PAC Sports Network.

All four major awards went to the Grove City College program, who just won their third straight PAC title. Voted as the Offensive Player of the Year was Grove City junior midfielder Tori Stevenson while the PAC Defensive Player of the Year award went to Wolverine junior defender Hannah Costa. The coaches selected Grove City freshman forward Lauren Muhanna as the PAC Newcomer of the Year and Wolverines head coach Melissa Lamie garnered the league's Coach of the Year accolade.

Stevenson was an offensive force in the Grove City championship season, as she became the 11th Wolverine to receive the PAC Offensive/Player award. In 11 PAC regular season outings, Stevenson registered 14 goals and 30 points to easily rank first in conference scoring. She scored at least one goal in 10 of 11 PAC matches, including a streak of six straight to close the regular season. To this point of her junior year, Stevenson has 16 goals and 34 points in 19 matches played.

In the PAC Tournament, Stevenson made it seven consecutive matches with a goal when she had the only score in Grove City's 1-0 victory over Franciscan University in the semifinals, which was her fifth game-winning goal this fall. She was also very active in the title game, firing nine shots and putting three on goal in a 1-0 Wolverines' win and was named to the All-Tournament Team following the final.

Thanks to another big scoring season, Stevenson who had 11 goals as a sophomore and seven as a freshman, has now climbed to ninth in program history with 34 career goals

In leading the Grove City back line through a historic year, Costa collected the first PAC Defensive Player of the Year honor for a Wolverine since the award originated in 2023. Grove City allowed single goals in their first two league games and starting with a 2-0 triumph over Geneva on Sept. 30, the Wolverines have not allowed one goal in posting nine consecutive shutouts to finish off the regular season. Grove City would outscore PAC teams 49-2, the fewest goals allowed by a team in league play since Westminster only allowed one in nine PAC contests in 2021.

The Grove City defensive domination continued in the PAC Tournament, as they ran their shutout streak to 11. In a 1-0 shutout over Franciscan in the semifinal, the Wolverines allowed six shots, with only two on net. Then in the championship match, Grove City held a Waynesburg team which scored 69 goals in 19 matches coming into the title fray without a score in a 1-0 victory. It was Grove City's second clean sheet against the potent Yellow Jackets, as the Wolverines won a 4-0 decision at Waynesburg to clinch the Tournament's top seed on Oct. 29th.

Following the last two shutouts, Costa was named the Most Outstanding Player of the PAC Tournament.

Muhanna's recognition as the top Newcomer makes her the first Grove City player to be recognized with that accolade since Gianna D'Amato in the spring of 2021. The first-year forward formed a dynamic 1-2 scoring punch up front for the Wolverines with Stevenson, as she led the PAC with nine assists, eight coming in conference action. Muhanna completed her freshman year with six goals and nine assists for 21 points to rank seventh in the conference.

Muhanna was a major reason Grove City claimed its third consecutive PAC title, as she scored the only goal in the Wolverines' 1-0 win over Waynesburg. She would join Stevenson on the All-Tournament Team for her performance.

Now in her 33rd season as the Grove City head coach, Lamie is collecting her 13th PAC Coach of the Year award. The 13-4-2 overall record posted by the Wolverines this year is the 11th year in a row the program has won 10 or more matches. They became the first PAC program to win at least three conference titles in a row since Thomas More won seven from 2011-17 and Grove City now has 10 PAC crowns, most in league history.

By winning the PAC championship tournament, Grove City also earned the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the Division III Championship, their eighth invitation to the NCAA Tournament. Grove City will play Illinois Tech at 1 p.m. Friday in Grand Rapids, Mich., at Calvin University, with the winner advancing to play either Calvin or Penn State Behrend at 3 p.m. Saturday in the second round.

The PAC also released its 2025 PAC Sportsmanship Team. The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams.
