TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - First revealed through an announcement show by the PAC Sports Network, the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its 2025 all-conference men's soccer teams and yearly award winners, as determined by vote of the league's 12 head coaches, Wednesday evening.

This year's PAC champions, Grove City College, claimed three of the four major awards, including a pair of player honors. Collecting PAC Offensive Player of the Year was Grove City junior forward Noah Gray, while fellow Wolverine junior defender Colton Hudson was voted as the conference's Defensive Player of the Year. The PAC Newcomer of the Year honor went to Saint Vincent College freshman forward Daniel Maddock and the final accolade for Grove City was earned by head coach Mike Dreves was chosen as the league's Coach of the Year.

Gray's honor marks the eighth time a Grove City player has earned the top player/offensive player award in PAC history and first since Sam Belitz was recognized in 2021. Gray led the conference this season with 14 goals and 35 points, while also ranking third with four game-winning goals and tying for fourth with seven assists. Much of his damage on the stat sheet occurred in conference competition, as Gray compiled 10 goals, six assists and 26 points in league action.

Highlighting his junior season was four matches with multiple goals, including a hat trick in a 5-1 win over Allegheny College on Sept. 27th. Gray also put together a stretch of 12 points in three games in early October, starting with back-to-back two-goal efforts in wins at Hiram College Oct. 8 and Westminster College Oct. 10. He followed that with one goal and two assists in a 4-2 triumph over defending PAC champion Franciscan University Oct. 15.

Gray also played a role in the Wolverines winning their first PAC crown since 2005. He recorded the opening goal, which turned out to be the game-winner in a 2-0 victory over Geneva College in the PAC semifinals.

A key cog on a stout Wolverines' defensive corps, Hudson started all 18 matches he appeared in this season and is the first Grove City player to earn Defensive Player of the Year since the award began in 2023. He helped the team allow just 11 goals all season, including surrendering only seven goals in 11 PAC matches with seven of their 10 shutouts against league foes. This was the fourth year in a row Grove City gave up less than 10 goals in PAC play.

Hudson and the Wolverines' defense was strong in the PAC Tournament, allowing just five shots with zero on goal in the 2-0 semifinal shutout of Geneva. They then held a Franciscan side which averaged 2.6 goals in PAC regular season action without a tally in a 1-0 title game clean sheet. Hudson also chipped in on the offensive side in the Tournament with an assist in the Geneva victory.

Maddock is the initial Saint Vincent winner of the Newcomer of the Year award since the PAC began giving the honor in 2019. A Second Team All-PAC selection at forward as well, he tied for fifth in the conference this year with nine goals and fifth overall with 23 points. More than half of his points came in PAC matches with five goals and three assists for 13 points. He had three points in four Bearcat wins this fall, posting one goal and one assist in victories over Valley Forge, Penn State-Beaver, Thiel and Chatham.

This is the second PAC Coach of the Year award for Dreves and first since 2022. The Wolverines' 15-2-2 record this year is tied for second most wins in a Grove City season with 2016 (15-3-4) and 2010 (15-6-2), teams also coached by Dreves, and behind only the 1996 team, which Dreves played on and helped lead to a 16-2 record and the program's first PAC title. Grove City also posted a 10-0-1 PAC record, the most conference wins since the Wolverines went 10-0 in 2022. In his 20 years at the helm of the program, Grove City has amassed 212 wins and a 115-31-13 PAC record.

As the winner of this year's PAC tournament, Grove City also received the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship, which is their fourth trip to the national tournament and first since 1980. The Wolverines will face Calvin at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Geneva, N.Y., at Hobart College in the opening round. The Grove City-Calvin winner will face either Hobart (13-0-5) or Messiah (11-7-2) at 1 p.m. Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The PAC also released its 2025 PAC Sportsmanship Team. The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams.
