Men's Cross Country | 11/1/2025 8:00:00 PM
MEADVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - With six runners placing in the top 15, Geneva College secured the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) men's cross country championship, finishing 33 points ahead of the second-place team to win its first title in program history in a meet hosted by Allegheny College.
In the 68th men's cross country championship in PAC history, Geneva, who fell point short of the championship last year, scored 38 points to easily outdistance the field, including second-place Grove City College with 71 points, defending champion Franciscan University in third (89) and Saint Vincent College in fourth place (95).
Finishing fifth was Washington & Jefferson College with 109 points, followed by Allegheny in sixth (131) and then Westminster College in seventh (216), Hiram College in eighth (236) and Waynesburg University (244). Bethany College, Chatham University and Thiel College had individuals compete at championships.
The top seven finishers in both the men's and women's races received All-PAC First Team recognition, while runners finishing eighth through 14th earned All-PAC Second Team honors. Runners finishing 15th through 21st received All-PAC Honorable Mention recognition.
Geneva's crown was won with a complete team effort, with two runners placing in the top seven to earn First Team All-PAC and four more Golden Tornadoes racing to Second Team distinction. It was the most runners from one school to place that high since Franciscan had six of the top eight runners in winning the 2021 PAC title.
The top individual in Saturday's race was W&J junior Dominic Flitcraft, now a three-time First Team All-PAC runner. After placing second as a freshman and third last year, Flitcraft broke through to take the top spot this year with a winning time of 26:16.90. He surged into the lead by the two-mile mark and continued pulling away to win by more than 25 seconds. He is the first President to win the individual championship since Harley Moyer won back-to-back crowns in 2018 and 2017.
Flitcraft was recognized as the PAC champion, but starting this year, the conference's Runner of the Year will be determined by a vote from the PAC coaches following the NCAA Championships.
The wave of Geneva runners began at second place, where GT senior Karter Reath used an incredible closing kick to move from 12th place at the 4.9 mile mark to take second by crossing in 27:17.0. He just edged past W&J freshman Wyatt Stroup, who finished third at 27:17.30. As the top finishing freshman in the meet, Stroup gave W&J two award winners by earning PAC Newcomer of the Year, joining Flitcraft (2023) and Paul Collier (2019) as Presidents to earn the top newcomer honor.
The first of two Grove City runners to earn First Team All-PAC came in fourth when Colsen Frank finished in 27:18.50. He was followed by another freshman, Franciscan's Maxwell Bruns (27:24.50) was fifth, Geneva's Ethan Haring came in sixth (27:29.70) and Grove City's Michael Singley rounded out the First Team All-PAC runners in seventh place (27:30.60).
Geneva's PAC championship was clinched when sophomore Matt Otto finished in ninth, senior Tommy Corbin was 10th and senior Eli Eisenberger took 11th. The final Golden Tornado to gather Second Team All-PAC was senior Benjamin Perka in 14th place.
Following the outstanding performance from his team, Geneva's Phil Thompson was voted as the PAC Coach of the Year, his first cross country honor.
The PAC also released its 2025 PAC Sportsmanship Team Saturday. The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams.
The Division III regional championships are scheduled for Saturday, November 15th. Bethany, Chatham, Geneva, Grove City, Saint Vincent, Thiel, W&J, Waynesburg and Westminster will compete in the Mid-Atlantic region, while Allegheny, Franciscan and Hiram will compete in the Great Lakes region. The Division III Mid-Atlantic Championships will be hosted by Dickinson College in Newville, Pa., while the Division III Great Lakes Championships will be held in Louisville, Kentucky at E.P. Sawyer State Park.
The 2025 Division III Championships are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22nd and hosted by Converse University and OneSpartanburg, Inc., in Spartanburg, S.C.
