Week 9 PAC Honors (for games played April 10-16)
The weekly award winners have been recognized for their performances during Week 9 of the 2023 season.
 
PAC Offensive Player of the Week
Amanda Effland • Washington & Jefferson • Senior forward • Frederick, Md./Frederick
Effland totaled 14 points last week as W&J downed Chatham and Franciscan, who both entered the matchups unbeaten in PAC play … She tallied eight points (3g, 5a) and six ground balls in a 17-10 win over the Cougars Wednesday … Effland added a team-high five goals, as well as one assist and six draw controls, in a 15-7 victory Saturday versus the Barons … For the week, Effland totaled nine draw controls and seven ground balls.

Allegheny senior Grace Baginski (Lakeville, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) led the Gators with 11 points and five assists in a 2-0 week, marked by a hat trick and four assists in a 20-6 win over Saint Vincent … Chatham senior Selena Justus (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara Whitehead) had three goals and one assist against W&J and posted three goals and one assist in the Grove City victory … Franciscan graduate student Grace Deegan (Akron, Ohio/Stow) scored a combined eight goals last week, including six, as well as two assists, in the win over Thiel … Grove City sophomore Abby Roetering (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) had four goals and an assist in the win over Waynesburg and added a goal against Chatham … Thiel senior Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western) scored nine goals and assisted on five others and also had 16 draw controls and five ground balls in two games last week … Waynesburg senior Tori Meiklejohn (Boonsboro, Md./Boonsboro) logged six goals against Bethany and added five more and one assist in a win over Wells … Westminster junior Nina Rascona (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) posted 10 points off four goals/six assists with three caused turnovers and three ground balls in a 24-17 win over Thiel and registered two goals and one assist against Saint Vincent.
   
PAC Defensive Player of the Week
Ella Phillips • Washington & Jefferson • Sophomore defense • Arnold, Md./Broadneck
Phillips totaled 13 ground balls and nine caused turnovers last week, as W&J downed Chatham and Franciscan to extend its winning streak to nine games … She amassed four ground balls and three caused turnovers in the 17-10 win over Chatham … Phillips finished with a career-high nine ground balls and had a game-high six caused turnovers, as W&J limited Franciscan in a 15-7 win.

Allegheny junior Sarah Thorman (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) went 2-0 in goal last week, totaling seven saves and only three goals allowed in 75 minutes … Chatham sophomore Samantha Barrett (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee-Crown) stopped 15 shots against W&J and then made 24 saves in the Cougars’ victory over Grove City … Franciscan senior Rose Kane (Brackney, Pa./Seton Catholic Central) had a combined 32 saves in two games last week, including 26 against W&J to break the Franciscan single-game record previously held by her coach Brittany Bain … Grove City sophomore Sarah Jackson (Brookfield, Con../Brookfield) helped Grove City to its first-ever shutout by causing four turnovers and collecting six ground balls in a 22-0 win over Waynesburg … Thiel senior Nielah Jones (Baltimore, Md./Catholic) recorded five caused turnovers, five draw controls and five ground balls in two games last week … Waynesburg senior Rachel Caldwell (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley) posted a team-high 11 ground balls and caused four turnovers over three matches last week, in addition to totaling three goals and one assist … Westminster sophomore Jade Hromanik (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) made 13 saves and had five ground balls and a caused turnover in victory over Thiel.
 
PAC Midfielder of the Week
Senna Perelman • Allegheny • Senior midfielder • Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights
Perelman finished a 2-0 week with nine points (5g-4a), eight ground balls, seven draw controls, and five caused turnovers … She led the team in ground balls and draw controls, and tied for first in caused turnovers … Perelman had three goals with two assists, five ground balls, two caused turnovers, and one draw in a 19-3 win over Bethany … Then she added four points (2g-2a) with six draws, three ground balls, and three caused turnovers against Saint Vincent.

Bethany senior Cassidy Mailloux (Bell River, Ontario/Ecole Secoundaire Catholic L’Essor) scored five goals, including the 100th of her career, and had three ground balls and nine draws in the Waynesburg win … Chatham junior Sam Beall-Dennell (Sykesville, Md./Century) had two goals, nine draw controls and seven ground balls against W&J and totaled six points (3g/3a) six draw controls, seven ground balls and three caused turnovers in the Grove City win … Grove City senior Madison Nazigian (Forest, Va,/Jefferson Forest) had six goals, including the 100th of her career, and 11 draw controls in the Waynesburg win and had a hat trick Saturday against Chatham … Thiel junior Ashlyn Wightman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) tallied 20 points (17g, 3a) last week, highlighted by 10 goals, including the 150th of her career, against Westminster Friday … W&J senior Sarah Labovitz (Great Falls, Va./The Bullis School) totaled 11 ground balls, seven draw controls, six caused turnovers and four points last week, as W&J stretched its winning streak to nine … Waynesburg senior Eve O’Sullivan (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) tallied six points (5g/1a) over three games and scooped eight ground balls, won a team-high nine draw controls and caused four turnovers … Westminster senior Stephanie Cimini (Mars, Pa./Mars) tallied 10 points, including the 100th of her career, off seven goals and three assists in win over Thiel, while adding seven draw controls, five ground balls and five caused turnovers.
 
PAC Rookie of the Week
Emma Brazier • Westminster • Freshman attack • Northport, N.Y./Northport
Brazier notched 12 points, as the Titans went 1-1 last week … In the 24-17 win against Thiel, she tallied eight points off six goals and two assists and added two draw controls, three ground balls and a caused turnover … In the one-goal loss to Saint Vincent on April 11, Brazier tallied four points off three goals and one assist and also had three draw controls.

Allegheny freshman Amelia Henderson (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) helped her defense allow just 4.5 goals per game (3 vs. Bethany/6 vs. Saint Vincent) while totaling six ground balls … Bethany freshman Jada Carter (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) scored seven points in a 1-1 week, with five goals, one assist and five caused turnovers coming in the Waynesburg win … Chatham junior Felicia Hutter (Rochester, N.Y./Penfield) posted three goals, one assist, five ground balls and three caused turnovers in the victory over Grove City … Franciscan freshman Kiera Wilson (Holley, N.Y./Brockport) had three ground balls and four caused turnovers in the win against Thiel … Grove City freshman Mara Polczynski (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) posted two goals and one assist in the Waynesburg win, as well as three draw controls, three caused turnovers and four ground balls … W&J freshman Anna Kloehn (Canton, Ohio/Jackson) totaled six goals, including two in the win over Chatham before adding four in victory over Franciscan … Waynesburg freshman Kerry Ryan (Timonium, Md./Mercy) recorded three goals and two assists over three games this past week.
