Week 7 PAC Honors (for games played April 10-16)
The weekly award winners have been recognized for their performances during Week 7 of the 2023 season.
 
PAC Hitter of the Week
Sarah Johnson • Geneva • Senior outfielder • Highlands Ranch, Calif./Mountain Vista
Johnson batted .600 (9-15) in a 4-0 week for Geneva while also posting a .625 on-base percentage and she slugged 1.000 … After going 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored in game-one win over W&J, she was 4-for-4 with a triple, one RBI and one run scored in the second-game victory … She also swiped two bases in each game against W&J … Johnson helped Geneva sweep PAC-leading Waynesburg Saturday, starting with a walk and run scored in game one … In the nightcap, she scored the game’s first run and later laced a two-run triple, as she went 2-for-4 in the 5-3 triumph … Johnson also went 5-for-5 in stolen bases for the week.

Allegheny sophomore Sophia Godzak (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon) batted .526 last week (10-19), including six hits and five RBIs in Franciscan sweep, and had two doubles and knocked in two in the Grove City win … Bethany senior Morgan Huey (Hermitage, Pa./Hermitage) went 5-for-9 in the sweep over Thiel with three RBIs and four runs scored … Chatham senior Mackenzie Dunn (Butler, Pa./Karns City) had two hits, including a homer, in both wins over W&J and knocked in five in the sweep … Franciscan senior Ariana Arnone (Bellevue, Wash./Newport) was a combined 4-for-7 with two doubles, two runs and one RBI against Penn State-Beaver … Grove City senior Lexi Buck (Akron, Ohio/Lake Center Christian) hit .556 (5-9) with two doubles and two runs batted in last week for the Wolverines … Saint Vincent sophomore Katelyn Stokan (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) batted .545 last week with five RBIs in a 3-1 week, highlighted by driving in the game-winning run in the seventh inning in the Westminster win … Thiel junior Kayla Roddy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) went 5-for-8 with a double and one RBI in the Bethany doubleheader … W&J senior Peyton Eckenrode (York Haven, Pa./Northeastern) had two hits in both games against Geneva, including a double and home run and four RBIs in the second game … Waynesburg senior Brin Hunter (West Alexander, Pa./McGuffey) batted .381 (8-21) last week with five RBIs and four runs scored and became the all-time hits leader in program history with her 143rd hit, an RBI double in game two against Geneva … Westminster senior Mackenzie Latess (New Castle, Pa./Laurel) batted .550 (11-20) in six games last week, which included going 5-for-7 in the Grove City sweep with two doubles, four RBIs and two runs scored.
   
PAC Pitcher of the Week
Madison Brown • Westminster • Graduate Student • Lisbon, Ohio/East Liverpool    
Brown was 2-0 with a shutout in two complete games last week ... She finished the week with a 0.50 earned-run average and 19 strikeouts ... In Saturday's 2-0 shutout of Saint Vincent, Brown yielded four hits, all singles, while fanning eight and she didn’t walk a batter ... She allowed one run on five hits with five strikeouts and no walks in Wednesday's game-one win at Grove City … Brown started the week with two shutout innings and two Ks in an 8-0 victory over Pitt-Greensburg.

Allegheny sophomore Aleya Belardinelli (Melbourne, Fla./West Shore) went 3-0, including shutouts over Pitt-Bradford and Grove City, while striking out 30 and allowing just 11 hits in 18 innings … Chatham freshman Cailyn Lucas (North Hills, Pa./North Hills) earned a pair of complete game wins last week, including allowing one run on six hits in W&J victory … Geneva senior Haley Smith (Joshua Tree, Calif./Yucca Valley) went 2-0 last week, including a complete-game shutout to give Waynesburg their first PAC loss of the season and she added two scoreless innings in the second game as Geneva completed the sweep … Grove City senior Janessa Dawson (Zanesville, Ohio/Tri-Valley) highlighted a 1-1 week by throwing a five-hit, eight-inning complete game Saturday in a 5-1 win at Allegheny, as she struck out six and did not allow an earned run … Saint Vincent sophomore Olivia Bushore (Claysburg, Pa./Claysburg-Kimmel) went 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA and 16 Ks last week, including allowing one run on seven hits with six strikeouts in 3-1 win over Westminster that propelled Bearcats into tie for first in the PAC … Thiel junior Kayla Roddy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) owned a 3.76 ERA and struck out four batters in 13 innings last week … Waynesburg sophomore Sydney Wilson (Pentress, W.Va./Clay-Battelle) went 3-1 with a 1.80 ERA over four appearances last week, as she racked up 20 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings of work and she earned the win in both ends of the Bethany doubleheader.
 
PAC Rookie of the Week
Samantha Phillips • Allegheny • Freshman outfielder • Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon    
Phillips posted a .556 (10-18) batting average last week with seven RBIs, six runs scored and three doubles, as the Gators went 5-1 … She went 5-for-7 and knocked in six in the Franciscan sweep, which included going 3-for-3 with a homer and four RBIs in game one … Phillips posted a hit in both victories over Pitt-Bradford and in game one win over Grove City, she was 2-for-3 with an RBI and one run scored … She finished the week with a .579 on-base percentage and .889 slugging percentage.

Bethany freshman Brooke Markland (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) finished the week batting .583 (7-12) with four runs scored and two RBIs and she was 3-for-3 with a double, a walk and three runs scored in game-one win over Thiel … Chatham freshman Victoria Murren (New Oxford, Pa./Bermudian Springs) struck out 10 in both of her starts last week, complete-game wins over La Roche and W&J … Freshman Payton James (McKinney, Texas/McKinney) helped Geneva to a perfect 4-0 week, batting 6-for-15 with three doubles, four runs scored and five RBIs … Thiel freshman Amber Wilkes (Pittsburgh, Pa./Peters Township) recorded two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored in four games last week … Waynesburg freshman Autumn Stemple (Morgantown, W.Va./University) logged a complete-game shutout against Denison on Tuesday, during which she gave up one double, four singles and two walks with eight strikeouts in the 1-0 triumph.
