W&J's Da, McDonald headline All-PAC men's soccer teams 5/13/2021 11:30:00 AM GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--The Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) announced its All-PAC men’s soccer teams and yearly award winners Thursday. The all-conference teams, along with this year’s annual award winners and sportsmanship team selections, were decided by a vote of the league’s head coaches. Washington & Jefferson College freshman forward Jayden Da (Rockville, Md. | Richard Montgomery) was recognized as this year’s PAC Player of the Year and PAC Newcomer of the Year, respectively. W&J 30th-year head coach Ian McDonald was named the PAC Coach of the Year. Da is W&J's first player of the year since Mike Chiodo in 2003. He is W&J's second-straight newcomer of the year award winner (Alvaro Viadas, 2019). Da started all 11 matches this spring, totaling a league-high 17 points. He finished with a PAC-best five assists while also scoring six goals, three of which were game-winning scores. His efforts helped W&J earn the No. 3 seed in this year's championship tournament. Da scored in the 74th minute of W&J's 2-1 semifinal victory over No. 2 Grove City College on April 27 at Don Lyle Field in Grove City to advance the Presidents to the title match for the second-straight year. He was named to the league's All-Tournament team. This spring McDonald led W&J to a 6-2-1 PAC record on its way to the program’s fifth conference title, defeating No. 4 Westminster College 2-1 in the conference tournament title match on April 30 at Alexandre Stadium in Washington. McDonald has been named the PAC Coach of the Year six times.
