(pacathletics.org)--The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced the 2020-21 All-PAC Men's Swimming and Diving teams Wednesday, with a total of 40 student-athletes recognized for their efforts at this year's PAC Swimming and Diving Championships. The all-conference swimming and diving teams are determined by a formula-based selection process using student-athletes' individual and relay finishes at the league’s annual championships. Eighteen student-athletes earned a spot on the All-PAC First Team. Twenty were named to the All-PAC Second Team while two were named All-PAC Honorable Mention. Grove City College led the way with 18 all-conference selections. Westminster College totaled 11 honorees and was followed by Saint Vincent College (7), Chatham University (2) and Washington & Jefferson College (2). Grove City claimed its third-straight PAC title on March 5. It was the program’s PAC-best 21st team title. The Wolverines secured titles in 19 of 20 swimming events during the championships, pacing the five-team field with 1,149 points. Westminster was the runner-up with 716 points and was followed by Saint Vincent in third (600), W&J in fourth (358) and Chatham in fifth (257). This year’s PAC Championships were conducted Monday-Friday, March 1-5 using the NCAA’s four-day, common-site program with all events contested as timed finals. Days one and two of the four-day program were swam on Tuesday while days three and four of the four-day program finished Friday. The men's one-meter and three-meter events were conducted throughout the day Wednesday, with the six participating divers performing all 11 rounds consecutively in both events. The conference championships were once again held at Grove City's James E. Longnecker Competition Pool. Longnecker Pool has been the home of the league’s championships since 1990. PAC Swimmer of the Year honors went to Grove City senior Michael Moosa (Charlotte, N.C. | Providence) after winning three events at this year's championships. He won the 200 IM (1:57.93), the 400 IM (4:14.86) and the 200 backstroke (1:53.71) and was a member of Grove City’s winning 800 freestyle relay (7:02.56). Westminster junior Patrick Holton (Livonia, Mich. | Winston Churchill) claimed PAC Diver of the Year honors after winning on both the three-meter and one-meter boards. He registered a score of 501.50 in the three-meter event before securing a score of 429.40 in the one-meter event. Holton was the runner-up on the three-meter board in 2019 and 2020. He was last year's runner-up on the one-meter board. Chatham first-year Karl Gangloff (Bradford, Pa. | Bradford) earned this year's PAC Newcomer of the Year award. He became Chatham's first-ever men's individual champion after winning the 1650 in 16:43.05. He also finished as the runner-up in the 500 (4:48.72) and fourth in the 200 freestyle (1:46.66). PAC Swimming Coach of the Year honors went to Grove City head coach Dave Fritz for the ninth time in his career. Westminster assistant coach Heath Calhoun was named the PAC Men's Diving Coach of the Year for the fourth-straight year.
