SPARKS, Md. (pacathletics.org)--USA Lacrosse Magazine honored two Grove City College men's lacrosse players as Division III Preseason All-Americans earlier this week in anticipation of the 2022 season.

Senior defender Cody Adams (Pullman, Wash. | Pullman) and senior faceoff specialist Grant Evans (Pittsburgh, Pa. | Upper Saint Clair) both earned Second Team Preseason All-America honors. Additionally, USA Lacrosse Magazine named Evans as its Specialist of the Year.

Last spring, Adams helped lead a Grove City defense that posted a 6.93 goals-against average this season in 13 games. That figured ranked ninth in NCAA Division III. Adams started all 13 games and ranked second on the team with 15 caused turnovers.

A three-year letterman, Adams earned United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Honorable Mention All-America in 2021.

Evans ranked second in NCAA Division III last year by winning 80.0 percent (184 of 230) of his faceoff opportunities. He also ranked third in the nation in ground balls per game, averaging 13.50. He led the Presidents' Athletic Conference in both categories.

Evans earned the conference's Defensive Player of the Year award, along with First Team All-PAC honors. He added eight goals and six assists in 2021. Evans led NCAA Division III in faceoff percentage in 2019 by winning 79.5 percent of his opportunities.

He earned Third Team USILA All-America in 2021.

Grove City went 11-2 last year and won its second straight conference title. The Wolverines also made their second straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

The Wolverines will open the season February 12, 2002 at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.
